Land Rover Series 2 II 88 SOLD (1958)
|This is one of the ultra rare very early Series 2's that were built with Land Rover Series 1 running gear as they did not have enough of the 2.25 petrol engines ready so only put them in the 109" to start with.|
TAX and MOT exempt.
This is chassis number 141800643.
They only made approx 1500 of these so they are the holy grail of Series 2's.
Registered in Cheshire on 20th June 1958.
Marine blue bodywork from new which is unusual as most where Bronze green.
Astonishingly it still has its original engine fitted no 141803562 which starts on the button and sounds good.
The Land Rover has been off the road since 2004 and needs either recommissioning or a rebuild depending on your budget/choice.
No brakes, clutch is working and all gears are selectable.
Chassis is saveable but has a home made rear cross member.
Bulkhead not too bad, solid in most places.
Has a fairey overdrive fitted and freewheeling hubs as well.
Seems complete and still has its correct early tailgate, wiper motors and screw vents as it should have.
To sum up this is a really nice rare project and there are only a handful left with their original engines in place.
Can be viewed off junc 14 M4 Near Hungerford Berkshire
Transport can be arranged at a competitive price.
