MORRIS MINOR Series II Splitscreen Two Door Saloon SOLD (1953)
|The Morris Minor is the quintessential British classic car. |
This example is an early Series II Splitscreen Two Door Saloon from 1953.
It has spent the last 33 years since 1983 in the Speyside area of north Scotland in the possession of only two owners. The first of these owners acquired the car in 1983 and at that time, it appears to have been off the road since before the introduction of the computerised registration system as the DVLA had to re-register it onto the new system.
In 2010 it was bought by a local enthusiast with a small collection of classic cars who since then, has shown it at various shows in his local area. He is a previous customer of ours who has recently bought another classic car from us and used this Minor as a part exchange.
Although the car is now MOT exempt as it was manufactured prior to 1960, it has an MOT which runs until July 2016.
Rules that commenced in October 2014 mean that the car will need to be licensed for twelve months from the date of sale for the new owner but this will be free as the car qualifies for the Historic Taxation class.
If you want own and drive an inflation proof car that brings a smile to you and all who see her then this is an ideal first classic car. Historic Road Tax is free and spare parts are readily available from the numerous Morris Minor specialists that can be found throughout the country.
Unlike modern cars, working on them is a pleasure.
