An incredibly rare find indeed; a very low mileage, well specified W201 190D 2.5 Auto, in a gorgeous colour combination, and one that has led a very, very charmed life indeed. This is probably one of the best W201 190D 2.5 you're ever likely to find anywhere. When I originally bought this car in 2011, I actually beat a Mercedes-Benz main dealership to it, as I just happened to be in the right place at the right time. I believe they wanted it to put in their showroom, where it surely would have put the new stuff to shame!.
I previously sold this car in 2011 at 60,000 miles, to a fellow enthusiast who continued to cosset it in the manor to which it had become accustomed, and who kept it in a heated, humidity controlled garage, and who used it for trips to the coast in good weather, covering just 6,000 miles during his two year tenure. In summer 2013 he decided to consolidate his classic car collection, and I (more than) willingly bought it back, selling it in September 2013 to an equally sympathetic owner, who also looked after it like a baby, and who covered just 3000 miles in his tenure. However due to a genuine change in his personal circumstances, he was very reluctantly forced to sell, and again, I certainly didn't need asking twice if I was interested, as 190D's like this, were even all but extinct back then. I most recently sold this fine vehicle, again, in November 2014 at 70,000 miles to yet another enthusiast; a dentist, who also cosseted the car in the manor to which it had now become very accustomed, who kept it garaged and covered just 4000, good weather miles during his tenure. I've now just sold him a very low mileage early 190 to; a car he'd wanted for a while, and again jumped at the chance of taking this car back into the MTSV fold; now some five years after I originally acquired it, it's even more sought after than ever, and is a direct indication of the W201's spiraling status as a bona fida classic.
The mileage, in my opinion, covered by both the previous owners have been a perfect balance; just enough to keep the car moving and in good order, but not too much that it would have started to deteriorate. As a result the drive quality and feel of the car are just superb.
It's a now a four previous owner vehicle (on V5) with a full and up to date Mercedes/Mercedes Specialist service history. Originally supplied by John Tallis, Mercedes of Bath (now Mercedes-Benz of Bath) and still carrying its original supplying dealer window sticker and tax disc holder (now in the book pack), the car was serviced by them right up to 2004, after which it was serviced by Monarch Mercedes of Tamworth. All supporting paperwork accompanies the vehicle, along with all its old MOT certificates which together give the car a superb provenance. Needless to say is completely HPI clear.
Now I could write page upon page about this car, especially as I know it so well, but just to summarise by saying its by far the best 190 Diesel I've ever come across, and it's now very, very unlikely indeed I'll find another like it. Everything about it is just so right, and it still even has that "new" look and smell about it. Seat covers have been fitted much of the car's life, and as a result the interior is just about as new. What's more incredible is that its all 100% original. Also going through it's very comprehensive service history there are no unwelcome horror stories or any evidence of recurring problems either, and this has shone through over the years I've know this vehicle with all the owners all reporting unfailing reliability in their respective tenures.
In an ideal world, I really should keep this car for myself, and just let it appreciate, but from a business point of view it's now far too sought after not to sell; life's cruel like that!. So all I'd say, if you want one of these, you want this one without a shadow of a doubt, you simply won't find any better.
THE MTSV DIFFERENCE
Unlike some, I don’t just simply go out, buy any old car, give it a good clean, then advertise it for more than the purchase price, disregarding any issues the car may have in the hope the new buyer won’t notice…I just couldn’t do that. The cars I source are carefully selected and I work very hard so that when my cars leave me, I have the satisfaction of knowing they are as good as they possibly can be within the constraints I have. As such I have many repeat customers and new customers that have been recommended via word of mouth…the ultimate accolade for anyone in business. To read more, see my website at http://www.mtsv.co.uk
