Austin A30 2 door saloon-1956 803cc A series SOLD
I have known this car for over 17 years. Originally owned by a friend who purchased the vehicle locally. I took ownership from him and had her a few years before selling her to a dealer from the Isle of Man. In Manx she enjoyed the ownership of folk who took good care of her. Despite my wife moaning, I decided to purchase the car back from the Isle of Man in late 2011. I organised shipping and collection and back she came.
I had a new floor section and sill fitted to the drivers side, welding to the passenger sill, new water pump, the brakes sorted, both King pins were replaced, an alternator fitted to replace the Dynamo, new battery and a few other bits to bring her up to MOT Test standard. It cost me £1000, but it was money well spent to see old faithful back! I enjoyed the car for the next 12 months. Unfortunately with family commitments, work, and life in general, times rolled on, and my circumstances have changed, so it's time to pass this 60 year old to a new home having owned her for just under 5 years.
As can be seen from the pictures she does need work but having owned about 10 or so Austin A30/ 35s saloons, vans over the years, this one drives the best. No rattles, grumbles or clongs.
The interior is serviceable but would benefit from a retrim. The brakes again need sorting but I'm confident it won't take a great deal.
The roof lining is good as are all the electrics including trafficators. I'll be sad to part with the old girl but I'd rather she was garaged and returned lovingly to her former glory. I really haven't the time at the minute..... and not sure I ever will.
Despite my desire to sell, I am not desperate for cash and will not accept silly offers so please don't waste my time or yours. I'm only interested in genuine enquiries.
