This is a car I sold earlier this year, but due to a genuine change in the buyer's circumstances, not withstanding the fact that he spends much of his time abroad, he's decided to sell, and with examples of the W201 190 like this one being in extremely short supply now, I didn't need to be asked twice if I'd be interested in taking it back. Notwithstanding that, a further bonus is that this particular gentleman who is extremely fussy about his vehicles, has spent a further £1070 on the vehicle, £862 of that at John Haynes Auto Techics, with the aim of bringing this W201 as near to perfect as is humanly possible. The remainder of the £1070 was spent on a set of new premium branded Dunlop SP Blue Response tyres.
Originally supplied by Paton's Mercedes, Carlisle , before moving South to Nottinghamshire and latterly Berkshire a couple of years later, this 190E 2.0 Auto is the most popular model in the range, and the best "all rounder" and comes in (what I think) is arguably the best colour combination of 888 Beryl Blue with Black Cloth.
Just to give you an idea of the quality of this vehicle, it was sold by Tristar Mercedes, (at 61,000 miles) in 2013, when the W201 was nowhere near as sought after as it is now, for almost the same price as I'm currently asking. Now, in 2016 the market for the W201 has moved forward in leaps and bounds, and as such values of the model have increased quite markedly in the ensuing years; no more is the W201 seen as just another old Mercedes, but has now quite rightly earned its stripes as a bona-fida Classic. Remember, the W201 was a true landmark car for Mercedes, so its credentials as a classic are not in question, and that's before you take into account that it's probably one, if not "the" most thoroughly engineered and best built cars of all time.
Service history comprises of 23 stamps, with all but four of them being from either Mercedes main dealerships or Mercedes specialists; the last having been done by myself in December this year, that also included an exhaust and a lower ball joint. In addition to the stamped service book, there's also an a large A4 file of invoices, old MOT's etc. to further add to the vehicle's superb provenance. As previously mentioned the last owner, who had very exacting standards indeed, also had a full inspection and further work carried out at John Haynes Auto Technics in March 2016; as such I doubt you'll find a better "sorted" W201 190E.
Bodywork is simply pristine, and is virtually unmarked, with the underside having been professionally waxoyled to further preserve it. Interior is also equally exceptional with no wear or damage to mention.
The drive quality can best be described as "simply sublime", and I'd go as far as saying its among the very best W201's, I've driven. This, in my experience is directly down to proper and regular maintenance, which this car has had in spades and which has quite clearly paid very obvious dividends some 23 years after it left Paton's showroom back in 1992. I'd say, having driven a brand new 190 back in the day, that it's a fair assumption that this one probably drives as well now, as it when it was driven off their forecourt all those years ago.
I could wax lyrical about this car, but I think the pictures speak for themselves. If you're in the market for a truly exceptional W201, then you'll struggle to find many better than this one. With the way the market for the 190E is going, it's going to be cars of this calibre, that can almost be regarded as the best investments, especially with such low bank interest rates at present.
THE MTSV DIFFERENCE
Unlike some, I don’t just simply go out, buy any old car, give it a good clean, then advertise it for more than the purchase price, disregarding any issues the car may have in the hope the new buyer won’t notice…I just couldn’t do that. The cars I source are carefully selected, and I work very hard to ensure that when these cars leave me, I have the satisfaction of knowing they are as good as they possibly can be within the constraints I have. As such, in my 11th year of doing this, I have many repeat customers and a steady stream new customers coming along that have been recommended via word of mouth…this is the ultimate accolade for anyone in business.
Any other questions, please feel free to contact me at [email protected] or on 07976 280738. I'm a firstly and foremostly a true Mercedes enthusiast of many, many years, and a Mercedes Club Member, so it's a pleasure to meet and speak to like-minded people.
Finally, I'm situated in Keighley (pronounced keith-ley), West Yorkshire (Postal Code Area BD21) which is approximately 11 miles from Skipton, and 20 miles West of Leeds.
