1975 Honda TL125S Bials twinshock For SaleIN 1972 Honda came out with their first productions trials bike. Trials biking was not well known in Japan at the time so they combined the two words 'Bike' and 'Trials' to come up with the name Bials.
Despite their lack of experience in this field at the time, in 1973 Honda put the Bials TL125 into the Scottish Six Days Trial competition, the oldest trials event in the world.
The TL series, both in its early incarnation and the next generation, went on to become Honda's most successful trials bikes.
Here we have the 1975 TL125S Bials. It is powered by a 124cc air cooled, 4 stroke OHC engine. It weighs 98Kg dry, gives of 8HP and has a turning circle of 1.5metres. Like its later descendents, the Bials is lightweight, slimline and highly manoeuvrable.
Looking at the Bials and comparing it to a 1988 TL125 you can see the similarities. The small fat 18 inch rear rims and the thin 21 inch front ones are the same; the same position of the exhaust tucked up under the rear mudguard - albeit on opposite sides; the big rear shocks and giant rear cogwheel; the upright seating position. The fundamentals of trial bikes are all there, just in a very early version. Our Bials has a much more classic, flatter look, one than is becoming harder to find each year. It is truly an old school beauty.
Our TL125S is an original 1975 from Japan in metallic marina blue and silver with the Honda wing in black on the tank. The tyres and wheels are very good. She looks really nice, as you can see in the pictures. She starts and rides but we recommend getting her serviced before taking her for an MOT. (If you like, we would be happy to get her MOT’d for you.) This is a rare opportunity to get your hands on a classic of the trials world.
This bike has been NOVA'd meaning all VAT and duties have been paid. It just needs to get an MOT and then you can register it with the DVLA. We would be happy to help with this.
Payment can be made cash on collection or by direct debit. We can ship globally.
