Jawa and Sidecar, MOTed, runs well, some modifications SOLD (1993)
|Old and tatty Jawa 350 with sidecar. |
Works and rides better than it looks.
We are the UK Jawa importers and this bike has been my personal winter bike for a number of years. I've actually owned it twice now.
It has been used to test various ignition system and carburettor options. Currently fitted with electronic ignition and a 30 mm D-slide carburettor. Goes pretty well for a 350 2-stroke pulling a sidecar. Obviously it's still not a fast bike. Cruises at 50 mph with no problems and can do a bit more if you need to.
Sidecar has also been ungraded using our 20 mm axle conversion and progressive spring so it doesn't wallow like it did when it left the factory.
Bike fitted with knobbly tyres for the winter.
The mileage on the clock is just over 10000 miles, but as with any bike that's over 20 years old there is no way of knowing if this is correct or not.
First registered in June 1993.
It's fairly basic specifications, but has been reliable.
Kick start only, not electric start.
Pre-mix oil and petrol, no pump. I run it on 40 to 1 fully synthetic mix.
Disc front brake that squeaks, it always has, and probably always will. I even put new pads in it and it still squeaks. Rear drum and linked brake to the sidecar.
Moted until 12th December 2017. It passed with no advisories.
Starts easily, runs well, steers well.
Not the prettiest bike in the world, lots of scratches and chips in the paint, but basically a sound, honest, reliable combination for the winter that wont mind being left outside and doesn't need to be polished every time its used.
