MG MILANO Historic racing car For Sale (1959) edit C84718 | | | 1959 MG MILANO HISTORIC RACING CAR
Historically significant Australian special built & raced by Bruce Leer successfully against Lotus & Coopers into the early 1960's,This is the first of the well known & successful Milanos built by JWF Fibreglass Industries in Sydney. Has MGJ2 chassis & Fibreglass body, similar shape to 1955 Ferrari Monza & weighs only 500Kgs.Fully restored in 1985 by owner mechanic & expertly maintained & developed since. Has won significant number of trophies,including best restoration in 1985 & Frank Gardener Trophy 3 times. Held under 1500cc lap record at Warwick Farm racetrack for 3 years in 1960's. Engine is MGTF 1500 Eng.No. XPEG3456 with billet steel crankshaft & camshaft, Argo conrods, forged pistons & produces 87bhp at the wheels at 6500rpm through an MGTC c/r gearbox & BMCA diff centre.Standing 1/4 in 15 seconds. Stopped well by 10" Wollsely Wasp brakes with fabricated finned drums.
