Triumph Herald Coupe 948cc Engine Original Feature For Sale (1960)
948cc TRIUMPH HERALD COUPE 1960ís ORIGINAL AND UNRESTORED
This is a fantastic opportunity to acquire one of the early Triumphs designed by the Italian designer Giovanni Michelotti. Its exciting design launched in 1959 introduced many new developments and incorporated traditional methods of a rigid chassis. Launched in the Spring, the Triumph Herald was a huge success with many motoring journalists offering an accessible front opening bonnet and an incredible full turning circle.
It is believed that there may only be as few as 300 948cc Triumphs still available.
This Triumph Herald Coupe for sale is certainly an original in her own right, I bought this classic car on 23rd May 2014 with the hope of restoring her to her former glory. This car had had one previous owner from new and the only modification made was the inclusion of an extra fuel tank.
The car was first registered 10-09-1960
Current Mileage 67,949
Vin/Chassis number Y17044
Engine Number Y20142HE
Engine size 948cc
Colour Two Tone Grey and White
Last MOT August 2014
Registered as Sorn with DVLA
When originally registered the original number plate was JRG 83 and in 1971 a a gift to his wife the original owner transferred 298 EVE onto the Coupe.
The original JRG 83 according to registration sites is available. The 298 EVE cherished number plate is alone worth a good few thousand It was valued in 2015 at £5000.00
There is various paperwork with the car including some previous service history, a Vehicle Registration Book and letters of correspondence relating to the late delivery of the Coupe which includes a letter from Standard Triumph Sales limited dated September 1960.
The car is original and unrestored. All the rare and unusual features specific to these early Heralds are retained and have not been messed around with.
Since I purchased the car she has been stored under a cover and in a garage. I have made no attempt at restoring any of the bodywork, interior or engine so this is an unique chance to start from the beginning and restore her to her former glory.
My reason for selling is genuine and honest, I already have a 1967 Triumph Herald Convertible which I have spent time restoring and still need to do some work on her so I am just unable to devote the time required to do another.
Should you have any questions or like to view either message me or contact me on 07896623419 and I will do my best to help.
This is the first time that this car has been advertised for sale so if you are seriously interested just let me know.
I have also advertised this classic car on other sites so it may be removed at any time.
Thank you for looking.
