We are very pleased to offer this absolutely stunning MGA Coupe for sale
Blessed with one of the most shapely silhouettes of any car ever produced, the MGA was a radical departure for MG, leaving behind the traditional ash-framed bodywork of its predecessor, the immortal ĎT-Seriesí.
Although retaining a traditional chassis, the separate body also served as a rigid structure, its triangulated bulkhead design ensuring that it didnít suffer from the dreaded scuttle-shake that can even be found on convertibles produced to this day. The precise rack-and-pinion steering and its lively B-series engine gave a top speed just shy of the magic ton and they sold like hot-cakes.
Over 95% were exported, most bound for the US where they found willing buyers looking for something more sophisticated than their softly-sprung home-grown sports cars.
This pristine RHD Coupe was one of the few that remained for the home market.
Completed on 29th September 1961, it was despatched from the works on 4th October and first registered on 20th October to its first owner who kept the car until his death in around 2013.
The second owner, purchased the Coupe as a retirement project through Panorama Bay in July 2014 and set to work. He totally dismantled the vehicle and commenced a ground-up renovation of the car.
The results speak for themselves and its professionally applied top coat of the original Chariot Red positively gleams.
Many new parts were used throughout, all fully detailed in bills and photographs on file. A lovely wood rim steering wheel has also been fitted although the original is also included if preferred.
The Heritage Certificate confirms that this car is completely correct
This beautifully presented car is as clean and well prepared underneath as it is on top and close inspection is highly recommended.
