Very interesting BMW R80/7 For Sale (1978)
..................................SORRY, NOW RESERVED...................................
ThIs is a very early, wire wheeled, BMW R80, that appears to have covered only 25k miles from new. It seems that the bike was in regular use (by the Reverend Andrew Hosie) up until around 2002, when the raft of MOT certificates in the history file showed that it had covered 23k miles. It was then garaged, unused, until it was purchased by the current owner. He took the mileage up to it's current 25k miles, and due to illness, can no longer ride.
What's interesting here, is not only the 25k miles, but also that the bike is still wearing its original metalic red, factory paint. Amazingly, there have been only three previous owners from new. The mechanical condition is very much in line with the mileage too, with the motor being one of the sweetest we've heard.
The history file contains a raft of servicing and maintenance invoices from over the years, with the most recent owner having spent almost £2000 on the bike, much of which was upgrades. Extras include:
Twin front discs
Breakwell and Green stainless exhaust system
(Slight crease underneath one silencer)
Braided brake lines
Single seat, complete with Motorworks rear carrier.
(Comes with original twin seat)
Motobatt gell battery.
Full, period Krauser luggage
I would suggest that this one is a great candidate for either (dare i say it!) a custom, or even a light refurbishment to an original bike.
She's off the button, MOT'd till September, and ready to go. Even at this price, we'll consider YOUR classic in part exchange.
