Fiat 124 Spider 1600 ,1970. 81000 mls. This is a lovely example of an early BS1 chassis no 1600 sport spider. The car was brought into the UK from America about a year ago and was the subject of a large amount of restoration and expense over the last 3 years. I have over 90 pictures of the car on Flickr and will be happy to share the link with you should you wish. Im sure most of the questions you have would be answered by these. The car is legal and motd and obviously tax free. The engine starts on the button and is quiet and totally leak free. The transmission has no snags or synchromesh issues and the cooling system holds proper temp at all times and has no leaks. Underneath the car is lovely , clean and solid with no issues.
All the front suspension was completely rebuilt with all new upper and lower wishbones, all steering joints, links and ball joints. There is a new exhaust system fitted. The car is on its original steel wheels with hub caps which are mint .There is an option of the later larger Panasport alloys if a more modern appearance is desired. A brand new replacement set of bumpers really set the car off.
There are no rust problems anywhere on the car ,and the paintwork although not perfect is super shiny.
The black interior is really clean and tidy with no cracks in the dash top or crash pad. The seats are virtually unworn in appearance and the door cards are spot on. A new full carpet set was fitted. The canvas hood was replaced 2 years ago and is unmarked.
This model of car is achingly pretty and rising in value continuously , i feel this car is a great basis to make something special and good value at £11500.00 considering many cars are now selling for £20k upwards.
I am in Ormskirk Lancs and will ring you back straight away if you leave me your details or home mail. Alan.
