Designed in-house by CitroŽn's chief designer Robert Opron, the SM bears a vague family resemblance to both the Citroen DS and the Maserati Mistral.
It was a high-performance Coupť produced between 1970 to 1975 combined many unusual and innovative features, some of which are only just becoming commonplace on cars of today. It borrows heavily from the innovations introduced on the Citroen DS by including hydro-pneumatic self-leveling suspension and self-leveling headlights that swivel with the steering.
The SM was CitroŽn's way of demonstrating just how much power and performance could be accommodated in a front-wheel drive design and it provided a combination of comfort, sharp handling and braking that was not available in any other car at the time.
Arriving shortly - First registered in the UK from new on 27th July 1973 and finished in Silver with a Blue Leather interior, 2.7 Litre V6 Fuel injected Engine, 5 Speed Manual Gearbox, Power Steering and self levelling suspension.
This car has now covered a genuine 80,000 miles from new with a full and comprehensive service history and is in beautiful condition and drives superbly.
The car is just having some cosmetic paintwork rectification, but should be available to view and test drive at the end of June/early July.
Recently arrived in the collection from Firenze, Italy, an early SB Carburetor model of these wonderful SM Maserati cars, with three previous owners, the last being a private collector.
