A Special Edition Vauxhall Tigra Chequers with one owner and 10,728 miles.
Body-colour bumpers sill extensions and door mirrors, impact door bars, reinforced passenger safety cell, deformation zones, green tinted glass, air conditioning, height adjustable sports seats, multi-function display incorporating air temperature with ice warning, rev counter, folding rear seats, power steering, drivers airbag, central locking, electric windows, CAR 300 stereo radio/cassette.
The Chequers Special Edition was only available in two colours, this being in factory original Star Silver, (Code 82L), which boasts an amazing shine thanks to careful one owner garaged storage. All the body coloured bumpers and panels are free from damage and only tiny marks on the door mirrors and sill extensions exist, barely worthy of a mention. The heat resisting Sundym glass is perfect and the original rectangular sports exhaust remains fitted. All door shuts and wheel arch apertures remain clean and preserved. Supplying Vauxhall Main Dealer number plates are still fitted front and rear which along with the rest of the car, remains unspoilt and factory fresh owing to the 10,728 miles covered.
Reclining sports style front seats upholstered in Chequers cloth are unmarked and exactly as Vauxhall made in 1999! No wear or damage and a real perfectionist’s delight, even the Tigra seat tags remain attached. All controls, switches and dials function including the multi-function LCD display incorporating digital clock, outside air temperature, date and audio information. The correct Blaupunkt CAR 300 stereo remains in situ. The boot area is spotlessly clean and lifting the boot carpet continues the showroom fresh experience. Amazing.
ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The 1.4 16v ECOTEC-4 petrol engine produces 89bhp and returns an impressive combined mpg of 38.2. Performance is quoted at 118mph and 0-60mph in 10.5 seconds allowing for fun spirited driving. Despite the incredibly low 10,728 low mileage covered, full Main Dealer servicing has been carried out. The engine bay is fabulously clean with all stickers, plates and yellow plastics vibrant. The 5-speed close ratio manual gearbox is solid and precise with a light clutch action.
WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
6J x 15 five-spoke F-line alloy wheels are unmarked and shod in 185/55 R15 rubber with ample tread. The rears are the factory fitted from new Michelin Energy variety and if regular use is intended a change is advisable. The spare remains pristine and unused. Two separate diagonally split brake circuits with servo assistance and discs up front bring the car to a rapid safe stop.
Truly unique with being registered to one keeper on the 29th June 1999, Miss Angela Marchant. Supplied by Vauxhall Main Dealers, Lance Owen Ltd Kingston upon Thames, this car returned to them an incredible 12 times for servicing despite having covered just 10,728 miles from new! All handbooks, spare keys and the Vauxhall Car Pass card are present along with a fully stamped service book. The grey leather A5 Vauxhall folder contains all the documentation. A unique opportunity for the forward thinking and discerning everyday modern classic car buyer.
