Triumph 2000 with overdrive (project) SOLD (1970)
| Triumph 2000, 1970 so it can be registered as tax exempt.|
I purchased it about 2 years ago from a gentleman in south London, he had owned the car for many years ,about 15 years ago he had the car resprayed it was then left in his aunts garage awaiting all the trim and lights etc to be refitted. After 10 years he lost the use of the garage so it sat in his front garden, he had to move so he decided to sell it thats where I come in to the picture I was looking for a project and it fitted the bill after reading the description and looking at the photos I made an offer hired a trailer and drove from Norfolk to south London (a long way) when we arrived it had 4 flat tyres and was stuck firm ,after we dragged it out and on to the trailer we found out that some of the parts were missing .
The seller said he would find them and bring them up to Norfolk !
After driving all that way I thought I would take a chance on it .
Much to my surprise 2 weeks later the seller turned up with all the parts he could find but we are still missing head lights and bowls a few bits of trim and wiper motor not the end of the world.
The plan was to strip the car down ,fit it on the rotisary attend to the rust see pics, that when it all went wrong my neighbour who was going the do the welding had to move .
My attempts at welding were rubbish so it has to go to some one who can weld.
I have refitted the front and rear suspension so it can be moved, the engine and over drive gear box are out of the car, I have an engine crane to help load them.
The carbs have had the diaphragms and gaskets replaced a new water pump and thermostat fitted new hoses supplied .
It comes with 5 x 2.5 PI alloy wheels a set of new carpets ( I dont know if it is a complete set) an extra 2500 PI short engine that is sized up but the bores look good spare wheel trims , a rear screen odd bits and pieces and a set of hand made outriggers. It also has a fold back britax sun roof. and workshop manual.
It is a project please do not expect to pop the engine in and away you go, the car requires work to put it back on the road.the tyres are shot but will hold air long enough to roll it on to a trailer.
