MGC GT 1968 - Restored For Sale

First registered on the 16th February 1968. Less than 4, 500 GT's were produced in the two years of production, many unfortunately no longer around.
In 2008/ 09 the car was totally stripped and rebuilt using new body panels where required. A total engine rebuild was done including converting the smooth 6 cylinder to run on Unleaded Fuel by Peter Burgess of Alfreton. At the same time the Gearbox was fitted with new bearings and synchros and last year a new overdrive unit was fitted. New Black Leather seats piped red and new carpets were added.
Completely resprayed in Tartan Red.
It has adjustable shock absorbers and the suspension has been Poly Bushed. The underside is wax oiled. Two sets of keys and Owners Handbook and Workshop Manual will be supplied.
In 2016 the heater was upgraded to a larger unit was fitted.
The current mileage is under 10, 000 miles, so just run-in!
Comfortable long distances are possible, thanks to upgraded new seats with headrests (the original seats will be supplied) a centre opening consul with armrest and Pioneer Radio/ CD Player with MP3 plug in, was fitted, along with hazard warning lights. The beam floor switch was changed to an indicator stalk switch type, freeing up space to rest your left foot. All the old parts have been kept and will be given to the new owner.
New Wire 15” X 5. 5” Wheels were fitted. Tyres depth is excellent.
At 70 MPH in 4th Overdrive, the car pulls 2, 000 RPM so economical and she drives beautifully, not to be confused with the 4 cylinder MG‘B’
This ‘C’ has wanted for nothing; there is a vast ring binder full of invoices and history, along with a British Motor Heritage Factory Record not forgetting old MOT's.
This car handles excellently on dry or wet roads, not to be confused with the original road tests, where the tyres were under inflated when tested by the Press!!!
So the car does not understeer.
A great deal of money has been spent to make this a stand out reliable modern day classic. It is kept in a heated garage, You can inspect the underside of the car and see no additional welding. I'm NOT a Dealer, but have a life time love of MG. Currently Leader of the North Yorkshire MG Car Club.
The sale is due to poor health.
The car will have 12 months MOT and of course is Road Tax Exempt. In my ownership it has been looked after by an MG Specialist: Retro Sports Cars of Bailiff Bridge.
She was 50 years old in February 2018 (we had a birthday party for her!) I’m sure she will be around for another 50 years!
MGC's are now getting very rare in this condition and offer classic driving and a great pleasurable investment.
I’m happy to answer any questions, but recommend inspection here in Bradford, West Yorkshire. Please telephone me on: the details below.
