1966 Triumph Herald 1200 Original
You are looking at Gerald the Herald
1966 World Cup winning car
Overall is very good condition, original and has an official Stanpart replacement engine. To be sold with original jack, tools, manual, touch up paint, oils etc and lots of paperwork.
A very reluctant sale due to a lack of time.
My neighbour thinks Gerald is the lucky car and I should keep the car until at least after the next World Cup!
I acquired Gerald from a lady I used to work with over 10 years ago, it was her mothers and she drove it until the Mot expired. He was then stored for 10 years in a very dry and protected garage and has always been garaged since.
Mot to April 2010.
Tax exempt.
Mileage 83000 but the Stanpart replacement engine will have significantly less mileage on it.
4 Previous owners - 1 of those was myself, 1 was a friend I lent it to for a year and the other 2 the lady I worked with and her mother.
Gerald drives very well and he starts within 3 turns.
There is no whining from the rear axel or gearbox and no nasty smoke from the exhaust.
BODY WORK
Overall in good condition and it looks like Gerald may have had a professional lower half respray around 15 years ago.
There has been some paint touching up around the car (has been done well though) and there are a few bubbles and rust spots on some of the wheel arches and bottom of doors - see photos.
I have used Waxoyl cavity wax inside the doors and inner compartment areas and wheel arches.
The chrome work is in excellent condition apart from some slight pitting on the headlights.
CHASSIS
Underneath Gerald has been under sealed along with the bonnet and engine compartment area. Over the years he has had a little welding to the main parts of the chassis and 2 new front outriggers professionally replaced.
INTERIOR
All in excellent condition - seats are it excellent shape. The carpet is original and good condition but is worn under the mat in the driver’s foot well. The boot carpet is not shown in the photo but is available and included in the sale.
FLOOR PANS & BOOT
The 4 floor pans are original and are solid. The boot has had a little welding in the corner of the wheel arch but overall very solid.
ELECTRICS
In excellent working order and all wiring in very good shape.

Gerald is located 30 minutes north of Cambridge, 60 minutes from North London, and 90 minutes from Birmingham.
Please remember Gerald is 43 years old and is not perfect but is certainly in good shape compared to many others.
I would recommend viewing and the car.
I have many more photos and for more information please do not hesitate to contact me.
