1978 Mini Clubman by Wood and Pickett SOLD edit C93294 | | | Sold by Sussex Sports Cars Ltd | | Click here for more info / photos | | Coming from the same collection as the incredible Radford-this recently refreshed Wood And Pickett 1275 GT was originally comissioned by H.R. Owen at a cost of £12,600 for a top international lawyer as a present for his son who had just graduated from Cambridge University.
Special order 'Elite' cream Connolly hide interior, including the headlining compliments the black Wilton carpet and special W&P Margrave dashboard. The sunroof is electrically operated as are the door windows.
The rear seats have been modified to fold down enabling the car to carry a full set of golf clubs and yet there is still room for the fitted twin fuel tanks. Other features well ahead of their time are the electrically operated wing mirrors and the 'mirrorcator' - this is the interior rear view mirror which has flashing direction indicators built into the housing.
In 2004 the car was returned to Wood and Pickett, having covered only 14,500 miles in 26 years, for a complete mechanical restoration and refresh at a cost of £7,000 including chrome plating, braided hoses and extensive detailing to the engine bay.
Current mileage is 15,500.
