Okay, I have had this superb machine for about 5 years and now it is time to sell, due to other commitments.

I bought this beauty for my 30th birthday present and she has performed almost faultlessly ever since. The ONLY niggle was a minor electrical earth fault which immobilised the car on a day out in Derbyshire. This was minor and easily rectified. Since then there have no issues.

So, where to start describing the love of my life? Well here is the verbage from the original advertisment (courtesy of Fuchs Porschebroker):

"This car is the true grit 911 addicts dream. Built from an original factory produced RHD shell imported from South Africa.

A complete bare metal, bare shell repaint to Arctic Silver. 3.2 (non-catalyst) 231 bhp engine with 915 gearbox.

Lightweight is the word, with the only concession being an RS carpet set and a clarion Radio CD. 7 & 8" x 16" Fuchs. 930 training arms. 3.2 brakes (with servo). SSi stainless steel sports exhaust. Recarro seats. Built by the then owner for trackdays and road use, but never taken to the track. The build quality is excellent. The car is stunning to look at and truly remarkable to drive in every way. A car for life and an absolute credit to the man who built is. A true one-off and not to be missed."

So that was what got me to Newark to view the car. I took along an automotive engineer friend (who built his own space-frame spitfire with a 3.5L TVR engine in it!) and he inspected it and pronounced it to be a very solid and well constructed machine.

So I bought her. I then had some work done:

Half cage (Safety Devices) welded in.
Reverie Fire extinguisher.
Superchips ECU chip.
K + N filter/induction kit.
Stainless steel strutbrace.
Replaced the Clarion CD player with a good Pioneer unit, plus component speakers and amp (both JL Audio).
Fitted an origin Blue Eye GPS radar detector unit - to keep my license.
I also had much painting and finishing work done to her at a respected bodyshop in Nottingham. Any areas of paint bubbling were removed (with new metal let in where necessary) and new paint and laquer were applied to all areas except the scuttle and the roof.

Now, the Origin will need to be resubscribed and the amplifier will need to be replaced as it got waterlogged when I had to leave the car in a cinema carpark and the heavens opened.

The car is always garaged and only used in dry conditions. The bodywork is excellent, though there are a couple of small, barely noticeable paint bubbles. I recently cleaned the underside and painted over any surface rust with curite and hammerite. However it looks a little patchy, not that you will see, unless she's up on a ramp.

The bodywork is completely straight and true and she has never been crashed. Everyone who looks at her, that knows about cars, comments on what a 'clean' car she is. She always turns heads, in town or on the open road.

Performance wise, she is so nimble and responsive, that I was blown away when I test drove her. There were no rattles or squeaks, though like any lightweigh performance car, she can 'crash' a little going over potholes. Also, she is low and speedbumps, while manageable, must be negotiated with care to avoid scraping the anti-roll bar mountings.

Oh yes, she has a Toad alarm and immobiliser.

Now, since she is such an absolute joy to drive, I have taken her to the track twice (Cadwell Park and Llandow Circuit) where she performed faultlessly again and impressed everyone with her abilities (even though I was behind the wheel, haha).

There is only one minor thing that I might take care of if I was her new owner; all the discs and pads were replaced about 1500 miles ago by a respected Porsche specialist. However, since the last track day, the front discs are a little scored, though obvioulsy have plenty of meat on them (being less than 2000 miles old). So to maximise breaking performance, having the front discs resurfaced at somewhere like Autofarm, would be just the ticket.

Although the price may seem a little high, she is worth it, believe me. I have not found a comparable machine for the same money. Also, since she is tax exempt and cheap to insure (I pay just £280 per year fully comp, unlimited mileage), you can look forward to relatively inexpensive ownership.

Well worth a look, though no tyre kickers or testpilots thank you.

EDIT: Just realised that I put the wrong price up. £23K ONO is much more realistic. Also, one other minor thing I would do to the car is have the rear wheels relaquered on the polished part of the rim, as it has fallen off in 2 or 3 places.
