This car has been restored to a very high standard by myself over many months after i purchased it as a rolling shell, the car had been fully stripped with new panels fitted and many many hours of time and effort put in (basicaly a new shell).After an expensive full respray inside and out (and underneath) the car was rebuilt in my mates bodyshop using my then current car F472 EBV (another red 1989 rs turbo) which was a very good example costing £2600 less than 12 months before.... it had also been an entheusiasts car.
Everything was lovingly fitted to the repainted shell (i have some pics and many reciepts)using a host of new parts including.....mountings,alternator,silicone boost hoses,battery,clutch cable,clutch,gearbox (under guarantee),all balljoints and suspension bushes,fuel lines,brake pipes,braided hoses,shoes,pads,Fuel pump+pump mountings.
It has 2 immobilisers fitted, the original and a newer toad alarm/immobiliser with microwave sensors and remote locking.
Bieng a 1989 model i have fitted 90's spec spoilers and bumpers as they're much smarter (89 spec can be supplied if needed).Body work is sweet with no filler or repaired panels and both doors are de-locked,the underneath is as clean as the rest ,it's finished in solar red which is close to its standard colour but a little darker the photo's dont do it justice as it looks pink !!.
The white leather recaros are very firm with little or no wear and the rest of the interior is very clean with fitted mats and a few other subtle nicies including brushed steel clocks ,obligatory boost gauge and it all lights up red except the pioneer cd/radio . The doors have alpine speakers on crossovers and there are some 6" on the shelf with crossovers too.
As can be seen in pics it is lowered on 17" alloys on uprated springs with adjustable's all round, i have it set up nice for 2 adults but it will go as stiff as you like (standard wheels are available).
Engine wise it had covered 117k before the cars refurb with the engine bieng rebuilt at 90k (have receipts), there are minor mods including cam/chip/k&n/intercooler/exhaust.Since the cars rebuild i have fully serviced the engine fitting plugs/leads/timing belt/oil and filter change and i even put a new set of followers in for good measure.There are no knocks, bangs or rattles it starts very well with no smoke and pulls strong.Once rebuilt it was set up on the rollers of hi-tech motorsport(again have reciepts and printouts)i was told it had a strong engine with an impressive torque curve the figures were 181 HP at 6270 RPM.
This car really does look and drives fantastic and i use it most days it certainly gets a lot of looks and nods of approval.In this condition they are are becoming few and far between i know this because when i first searched the country looking for a decent one i couldnt find any as clean as this for the money. So we must have one of the best rs turbo's in the country having done just over 2k sine the refurb (6 months ago) which ive spent far more on it than i should have done with time and money.
This vehicle has an agreed insurance price of £8000 with footman james.
Im ideally looking to SWAP for an equally cherished 2.8 or 3.0 capri/modded pinto capri/pinto powered mk1/mk2 escort/early cortina/scimitar...i dont mind a car that needs a little tlc but has to be solid and useable.
I've reduced the price a little to see if there's any interest i really have spent thousands on this car, she looks and drives fantastic and i so recomend viewing as for this money this car is a bargain.
