The club was founded in 1989 with the approval of Volvo cars, and the surviving
founder, Kevin Price, remains our President to this day. We are a family club,
run by volunteer officers as a not-for-profit private company limited by
guarantee. We seek to promote fellowship between owners and enthusiasts for
classic Volvo cars, trucks and other vehicles bearing the Volvo brand, through
technical support and advice, and providing members with a busy annual calendar
of free events to enjoy. The club produces its own full-colour magazine four
times per year, and is a regular exhibitor at major classic car shows and
events.

The club seeks to remain a respected brand, with access to major shows, support
from leading insurers and classic Volvo traders and works closely with the DVLA,
FBHVC and Volvo Cars to deliver the best club we can for our members.

Club Niche:

The club is completely independent of Volvo Cars UK, and caters for every Volvo
series from the PV444 to much more recent C70s. The club is always ready to
assist the classic car press with feature cars and technical and historic data.
Within the club we have excellent examples of most classic Volvos, including the
legendary 850 BTCC race car and the iconic P1800 "Saint" car, used in the TV
series by the late Sir Roger Moore, now owned and restored by our Hon. President
Kevin Price, which is a regular on the UK classic car show circuit. Volvo's
contribution in other fields is not forgotten either, and with support from
Volvo Trucks UK, we have mounted several exhibits in 2017 to commemorate the
50th anniversary of Volvo Trucks in the UK.

The emphasis in the club is on using our cars in the manner intended, and in
addition to our busy show programme, we organise an annual national rally and
road runs in various locations throughout the UK where members can come
together and enjoy their enthusiasm for all things Volvo.
