Festival opens at 11.00 hrs. The Tewkesbury Classic Vehicle festival, (originally the ‘Bredon Classic and Vintage Car Rally’) was created for the lovers of all classic and vintage vehicles to enjoy and appreciate a by-gone age of engineering. However, not all vehicles are of vintage maturity, as recent show entries ranged from a 1904 Peugeot Open Tourer and an original 1914 Pioneer Triumph motorcycle right up to some of the latest bike and ‘Super Car’ offerings from Ferrari, Lamborghini and others. A very special visitor to the 2012 Festival, was a 1936 Type B Alfa Romeo straight 8 supercharged Grand Prix car, once driven by Tazio Nuvolari and currently valued at £2.25 million! Last years entry included a Jensen Healy and a De Lorean! The Tewkesbury Classic Vehicle Festival caters for all interests, old and young. When you have had your fill of cars and bikes, there are the Heywood Sisters singing some wonderful classic numbers, plus fine teas, cakes, burgers and hot dogs for the famished, as well as a licensed bar– and of course the trade stands and market stalls, selling everything from auto-jumble parts to jewellery and furniture! All in all – a great day out for all the family. Don’t miss it!
