Following the success of the first Stratford Festival of Motoring over the May Bank Holiday weekend in 2013 we have decided to make this an annual event. The Festival will again take place over the May Bank Holiday weekend which for 2014 will be Sunday 4th and Monday 5th May.
Organised jointly by StratForward, (the town’s Business Improvement District) and Shakespeare Country, the event will see more than 300 classic and special interest vehicles on display on the streets of Stratford upon Avon.
Following feedback from 2013 entrants we have taken on board some of the suggestions and our plans will include measures to alleviate some of the issues we encountered in 2013. These together with some of the new initiatives that we are planning, will make the Stratford Festival of Motoring 2014 even bigger and better than 2013.
We are currently negotiating with the local council and the police to close a number of roads in the town. This will enable us to accommodate more cars and add a few specialist attractions to the Festival – with the Star Attraction courtesy of Jaguar Land Rover. More details to follow!
The two day Festival will again feature two "runs" through stunning Warwickshire and Gloucestershire countryside. The difference is that for 2014 both runs will operate on both days. This will mean half the cars leave town in one direction, and half in another direction returning to town by different routes. Hopefully this, with a combination of the planned street closures should ease traffic on the local roads.
We can't provide full details of our planned 'attractions' or the routes until the road closures are confirmed.
We also hope to put on a show of Classic and modern Aston Martins, as last year, which drew huge attention from the public. We are privileged to have two Global Motoring Brands, Jaguar Land Rover and Aston Martin literally on our doorstep and both great supporters of the Festival.
To make the Festival weekend really special we are planning a Festival Ball on the Sunday evening to be held at the Holiday Inn in Stratford. This will start with a drinks reception and canapés, followed by dinner in the Grand Ballroom and dancing to a live band. The Ball will finish at Midnight so that your cars don’t turn into pumpkins as you'll need them again on the Monday morning.
Tickets for the 2014 Stratford Festival of Motoring Ball are £50 per person.

Entry Fee for the 2 day Festival is £25 which will include a route book covering both runs, rally plate and parking on the streets in town for both days.
