Take a journey through 100 years of history
2015 marks the launch of a brand new two day military and vintage festival which will be the biggest indoor and outdoor military event in Essex. Temple at War will showcase Military Entertainment, Education and Trader Opportunities covering WW1 and WW2. Traders, Re-enactors and Members of the public will be treated to an interactive and imaginative show which will provide a truly memorable experience at a historic location.

Visitors to “Temple at War” will experience a taste of the action from the Front line to the Home Front! Opportunities to experience at first hand re-enacted WW1 and WW2 way of life and enjoy spontaneous displays and talks. All experienced through a safe and vehicle free zone.

Military re-enactment groups from around the UK are expected to gather at the new venue. These Living History groups will provide a unique picture of life in conflict with depictions from WW1 and WW2. You too can experience the WW1 and WW2 British Citizen living the hard life of a British “Tommy” or the local farm girls tending to real live stock on a petting farm.

As part of this fantastic show you will be able to see a host of tanks, artillery, armoured vehicles, cars, Jeeps, bicycles and motorbikes and much much more!

Trade stalls will give collectors and shoppers the opportunity to browse through internal and external stands packed full of military, antiquities, film props, vehicle parts, books, memorabilia, and uniforms for all keen enthusiast.

With period music, dance, entertainment and fashion this show is a must for fashion and 40’s glamour.

The facilities at Cressing Temple are excellent; a large indoor and outdoor trading area, a wide range of refreshments will be available throughout the day. Around the show ground will be lots of other options for reasonably-priced, good quality food and drink. The site has free parking and space for over 3,000 vehicles so bring your friends and family. From the minute you time warp into “Temple at War” you will be immersed in the bygone world of prior generations. Live actors and drama will be made available to you, your friends, and family from the point you or your group walk on site.

The Cressing Temple Barn complex is an ancient monument situated between Witham and Braintree in Essex, close to the villages of Cressing and White Notley. It was amongst the very earliest and largest of the possessions of the Knights Templar in England It is the location of two Grade I listed Medieval barns, one of which is the oldest standing timber-framed barn in the world.
