・Fantastic engine
・Spares included

The Background

The turbo R was a return to form for Bentley, being an improvement over its predecessor the Mulsanne Turbo, helping Bentley’s reputation for creating driver focused luxury cars. The Turbo R used the Mulsanne’s 6750cc Rolls-Royce V8 and combined it with redesigned suspension with improved damping, stiffer anti-roll bars and a rear subframe anchoring Panhard rod and wider stance. All of this improved the roadholding ability of the Turbo R with the R standing for ‘Roadholding’.
With Bentley drawing in customers of higher economic status than most but those that still wanted sporting ability with their luxury. The brand had that over its contemporary counterpart Rolls Royce and as such it has remained a successful company to this day. The Turbo R was a brilliant car when it was new and even now it holds a place in the market for still having the ability to cross continents in a day or just pop to the shops, whatever you decide to do in the Bentley, you’ll always feel refreshed when you arrive.

The History

This car was purchased by an enthusiast in October of 2020 and since then, the current owner has enjoyed the vehicle whilst fixing and upgrading a few things along the way. Personal circumstances necessitate the reluctant sale of the car for the current owner.

The Paperwork

The Bentley comes with a docket of receipts and service records for the car since the current owner has had the vehicle, but it comes with only a partial history from the previous owner. Despite this there is more than enough to show that the car has been treated with love and respect during its time with the previous two owners and upon inspection since it was first registered.

The Interior

As you’d expect with a Bentley, the interior is luxurious and plush with wood trim everywhere, picnic tables in the backs of the seats, fantastic condition leather seats and wonderful shag pile carpets. The interior of the Bentley is in remarkable condition inside with high traffic areas having little to no damage or wear and tear to be seen. The interior of this Bentley, like all the others is simply a delightful place to be for Royalty and common man alike with the gallery below showcasing just how good the interior has stood the test of time.

The Exterior

The exterior of this 34-year-old luxury is remarkably good, the only issues to be found are small sections of the rubber bumper coverings and some very minor surface corrosion around the back arches where stone chips are most prominent. The paint is still in great condition with no swirls, very little, if any scratches, stone chips or dents. The wheels are in fantastic condition also, with very little lacquer peel or curbing. The brightwork, lights and grille have also faired very well over the car’s life with the flying B standing pride of place at the front of the bonnet.

The Mechanics

As with the rest of this car the mechanicals and the drivetrain of the Bentley are in great condition, the engine jumps into life with no squeals or knocks and idles comfortably on tick over. The turbo spools up nicely and provides a nice boost to the slightly barge like nature of the big Bentley.
The mechanicals of the Bentley are as stated all in working order, meaning the big luxury cruiser is ready to enjoy on the road straight away. The current owner however has planned ahead and gathered some spare parts as and when they’ve seen them come up for sale, ensuring that the longevity of the car can be maintained for the future owner.

About Max Bids

The max bid process allows you to bid without any hassle.

Enter your maximum bid and we will then bid on your behalf to ensure you're the highest bidder - just enough to keep you in the lead and only up until your maximum.

Anti-sniping

Car & Classic prevent auction snipers from bidding in the last seconds to win an auction.

Auctions are extended by 3 minutes if anyone bids within the last 2 minutes to allow other bidders to react and counter-bid.

Auto-bidding increments

  • If your maximum bid is equal to or below the reserve price, your maximum bid will be applied in full if you are the highest bidder.
  • If you are the highest bidder and place a maximum bid above the reserve, we will automatically put in the reserve as your first bid.
    • Once the reserve has been met, Car & Classic will make sure you are the highest bidder using only the bidding increments stated below.
    • We will keep you in the lead up until your maximum bid OR the increment closest to your maximum bid, providing your maximum bid is enough to cover the increment value.

Bid Amount Increment
£0 to £9,999 £100.00
£10,000 to £49,999 £250.00
£50,000 to £99,999 £500.00
£100,000 + £1,000.00

Automatically outbid immediately

When you place a max bid and are outbid immediately that means that another bidder has placed a max bid limit which is higher than yours.

You can bid again and we will use our automatic bid system to try and get you as the highest bidder.

Matching max bids

When there are two max bids of the same value, the one placed first remains the lead bidder.

Pre-authorisation

We may hold a pre-authorisation charge on your card until the end of the auction when the hold will be cancelled. If you win, we'll take a security deposit which counts towards the payment for the vehicle and isn't any extra cost to you.

What are pre-bids?

A pre-bid means you're able to place a bid before the official start of the auction.
You will be notified whether or not you are the highest bidder when the auction starts.

Problem with your bid

Bids are contractually binding. To help protect you, we have some rules in place if we think it's been mistyped. Please check and amend what you have entered.
