The Background
When Alec Issigonis penned the design of the now iconic Mini no one could imagine what fame the model would go on to have. The groundbreaking design of the transversely mounted engine coupled to the front wheel drive system would inform and inspire car design for decades to come.
The little mini would become an icon of a generation and was voted the second most influential car of all time in 1999 just being beaten by the Ford Model T.
It would not only turn heads on streets, but it would also perform well on the motorsport stage. Winning the Monte Carlo Rally in 1964, 65 and 67. It would also compete in the British Saloon Car Championship. When BMW acquired the Rover Group in 1994, they reserved the rights to the mini name and in 2000 the Modern Mini was released, which is still in production today. With the mini name now spanning 60 years it is a true Icon of the automotive world that almost everyone has had the pleasure of being involved with.
There is some history that comes with the car in regard to all of the paperwork in its little folder, which includes all of its MOT certificates, receipts for certain works and service stamps. The current owner has the V5 which states 4 previous owners.
There is quite a bit of paperwork that comes with this mini. Within the original Rover stamped booklets you will find original documents that include every MOT certificate from 1998 until present day and with a well-documented service book you can see that someone has enjoyed this car in the right manor.
There are also other documents that would’ve come with it from the dealership such as documents that show you have to operate the stereo and the owners handbook.
The interior of this car is in good condition you wouldn’t really be able to tell that it is almost 30 years old. You are always amazed at just how much space there actually is inside a classic mini, the size of the exterior makes you think that you’d be like sardines in a tin, but the interior of the classic Mini is a lovely open place to be.
The seats are in good condition with no rips or tears with both front seats folding forward easily so you can gain access to the rear seats. With the original clock and cassette player still in place you can be sure to enjoy the interior of this Rover Mini.
This Mini is finished in the classic British Racing Green colour; two iconic parties of the British automotive world come together to produce a truly timeless classic car. You cannot mistake the shape of a mini and with the size you don’t need to worry about parking. The exterior trim is in good condition too with all the chrome still shining to this day. It runs on mini-lite rims which are in good condition for the age. All in all, the exterior of this mini is in good condition.
As soon as you get in and turn the key, you’re able to tell that this little mini will run fine, it goes through the gears well. It doesn’t have a huge engine but due to the size and weight or lack thereof both means that it will still move at a relative pace. The current owner will also put a new MOT on the car before it is collected.
Everyone loves a Mini, they are a true British institution and here is your opportunity to own one. With all of the positives of this little Mini then you really can’t lose.
A mini evokes certain emotions of a different time, if you talk to anyone about the mini you will be hard pressed to find someone who never had a mini in the family, classic or modern, these cars have been able to find a cult part of the market and corner it.

Auctions are extended by 3 minutes if anyone bids within the last 2 minutes to allow other bidders to react and counter-bid.
Auto-bidding increments
If your maximum bid is equal to or below the reserve price, your maximum bid will be applied in full if you are the highest bidder.
If you are the highest bidder and place a maximum bid above the reserve, we will automatically put in the reserve as your first bid.
Once the reserve has been met, Car & Classic will make sure you are the highest bidder using only the bidding increments stated below.
We will keep you in the lead up until your maximum bid OR the increment closest to your maximum bid, providing your maximum bid is enough to cover the increment value.

Pre-authorisation
We may hold a pre-authorisation charge on your card until the end of the auction when the hold will be cancelled. If you win, we'll take a security deposit which counts towards the payment for the vehicle and isn't any extra cost to you.
