Highlights

∙Limited edition only 750 built
∙Pearlescent Amaranth paintwork
∙Low mileage good runner

The Background:

The Mini Equinox was a limited production of only 750 cars. Only available in three colours which were Amaranth, charcoal grey and platinum silver, the interior fabrics had an "Astral" design of Sun Moon and Stars, making it unique to this model.

Based on the Mini Sprite the decals and badges had coachlines with Equinox decals. The car had tinted glass, opening rear quarter windows and a Rover R660 radio cassette player. In addition the car was finished off with chrome bumpers and grille.

This particular car was purchased by the current owner in September 2020, with the incoming emission laws in London it no longer makes it feasible for them to keep the Mini, hence the sale of the car.

The Paperwork:

The car's last 3 MOT’s pass documents are present and in the last three years the car has only covered 3000 miles.

The car's original user manual is also with the vehicle.

The Interior:

The cars interior is in good condition, carpets are clean and protected with rubber floor mats. The seats are free of any marks, door cards are in good order for the age of the vehicle.

The Rover/Philips R660 radio cassette fitted as standard and can still be used to plug your mobile for music. USB port was added too be able to charge phones. and the car also has two sets of keys, a immobiliser handset for the factory fitted anti theft alarm and a blocking steering wheel system.

The Exterior:

The cars paintwork in general is in good condition, noticeable areas which would need attention are the off side print door that has a rust patch along the bottom of the edge, there is also a dent on the off side front wing and the near side front wing where it meets the front of the car is dented as well.

All four wheel trims are scuffed but tyre walls look to be in good order along with the tread of the rubber. Marks are apparent on the near side of the car around the front and rear of the door, plastic arches are in good condition on both sides.

The original fitted front and rear chrome bumpers require a refurb, the rear one has a small dent it it as well. The full size spare wheel has had some use, and the boot interior is clean, the inside of the boot lid is marked with wear and tear scratches.

The Mechanics:

The car was serviced in July 2021, no paperwork is with the vehicle to back this up at this stage though. The MOT expires in June 2022, and although there is an advisory of a minor oil leak, this has now been repaired.

A new battery, exhaust pipe and ECU were installed.

The Appeal:

Ever since the Mini was introduced over sixty years ago it has appeared in many limited edition guises, the Equinox with only 750 produced is a rare car, especially in the Amaranth pearlescent paintwork. This cars low mileage makes it a great project car as it needs a little attention to get it back to show condition, mechanically we believe it to be good and with that sophisticated interior design and flamboyant paintwork it's sure to stand out from the crowd.

So step back in time with one of the Rover Mini’s limited editions and enjoy one of the last of the limited runs of the classic Mini design.

Making a secure purchase on Car & Classic Auctions

About Max Bids

The max bid process allows you to bid without any hassle.
Enter your maximum bid and we will then bid on your behalf to ensure you're the highest bidder - just enough to keep you in the lead and only up until your maximum.

Anti-sniping

C&C prevent auction snipers from bidding in the last seconds to win an auction.
Auctions are extended by 5-minutes if anyone bids within the last 2 minutes to allow other bidders to react and counter-bid.

Auto-bidding increments

If your maximum bid is below the reserve price you'll bid that amount if you are the highest bidder.

If your maximum bid is above the reserve and you are the highest bidder - we will only auto-bid for you up to the reserve price.

Once the reserve has been met, C&C will make sure you are the highest bidder using the bidding increments stated below, keeping you in the lead up until your maximum bid OR up until just below your maximum bid when the increment value would have taken you higher than your maximum bid.

Once the reserve has been met C&C will make sure you are the highest bidder using only the bidding increments stated below, keeping you in the lead up until your maximum bid OR up to the next increment closest to your maximum bid if your maximum bid isn't enough for the increment value.

Bid Amount Increment
£0 to £10,000 £100.00
£10,000 to £50,000 £250.00
£50,000+ £500.00

Automatically outbid immediately

When you place a max bid and are outbid immediately that means that another bidder has placed a max bid limit which is higher than yours.
You can bid again and we will use our automatic bid system to try and get you as the highest bidder.

Matching max bids

When there are two max bids of the same value, the one placed first remains the lead bidder.
