2000 Range Rover 4.6 Holland & Holland

Highlights

• 1 of only 100 UK registered versions
• Ultra high finish including bespoke wooden trim and leather
• Still has the picnic table legs
• Comes with two keys

The Background

Produced between 1996 and 2002 the 2nd generation Range Rover has now become a bit of a cult classic. It offered great comfort when on the motorway or around town and if you dared to venture off the beaten path it had excellent off-road capabilities too.

This Holland and Holland version is the pinnacle of the second generation (or P38 as it is referred to) line with only 400 ever produced. 300 of those units went over to the USA which left only 100 for the UK market.

With the production run only being 400 this car is very special; with such a limited production this makes the Range Rover Holland and Holland rarer than a Ferrari F40.

This is a very rare example of a true British icon

The History

Spending most of its time in East Sussex this Holland and Holland Range Rover has enjoyed regular servicing.

Towards the end of the service book it appears to then move up to Carlisle which then brings it up to date in the history of the car before the seller obtained the vehicle.

The Paperwork

This car comes with a fully stamped service book with full history from new until the most recent major service

The Interior

Due to the high level of finish from factory the interiors wear well. The Cheshire grade brown leather is in good condition. The gun stock wooden accents are also in good condition with a little bit of sun bleaching on the top of the centre console over the suspension buttons.

All the electronics within the cabin seem to be functioning including the satellite navigation.

Another special feature on the Holland and Holland was the picnic table in the boot of the car. Usually the legs for this table are long gone. This example still has the legs bagged up in the boot, a rare find

The Exterior

All the Holland and Holland versions were finished in Tintern Green. A lovely dark green that goes well with the brown leather interior.

This version has great paint on the exterior, with the bumper being recently painted to rectify any small chips and scuffs.

The Mechanics

Mechanically this Range Rover is a good example with a stamped service book with full history from new until the most recent major service. The car still rides on its original air suspension with no issues it does not sink or malfunction. There are no warning lights on the dash. This example has also not been converted to LPG

The Appeal

This is an excellent example of a very rare car. With only 100 ever registered in the UK you’re unlikely to see another one any time soon. This vehicle fitted with the iconic Rover V8 and a 4 speed automatic gearbox which makes it a true motorway mile cruncher with the ultimate in Range Rover fit and finish. Described as the perfect ‘country’ Range Rover at the time it certainly still has huge presence wherever you are.

Whether you’re and Land Rover fan or purveyor of fine vehicles this is a vehicle that you need to add to your collection.

About Max Bids

The max bid process allows you to bid without any hassle.

Enter your maximum bid and we will then bid on your behalf to ensure you're the highest bidder - just enough to keep you in the lead and only up until your maximum.

Anti-sniping

Car & Classic prevent auction snipers from bidding in the last seconds to win an auction.

Auctions are extended by 3 minutes if anyone bids within the last 2 minutes to allow other bidders to react and counter-bid.

Auto-bidding increments

  • If your maximum bid is equal to or below the reserve price, your maximum bid will be applied in full if you are the highest bidder.
  • If you are the highest bidder and place a maximum bid above the reserve, we will automatically put in the reserve as your first bid.
    • Once the reserve has been met, Car & Classic will make sure you are the highest bidder using only the bidding increments stated below.
    • We will keep you in the lead up until your maximum bid OR the increment closest to your maximum bid, providing your maximum bid is enough to cover the increment value.

Bid Amount Increment
£0 to £9,999 £100.00
£10,000 to £49,999 £250.00
£50,000 to £99,999 £500.00
£100,000 + £1,000.00

Automatically outbid immediately

When you place a max bid and are outbid immediately that means that another bidder has placed a max bid limit which is higher than yours.

You can bid again and we will use our automatic bid system to try and get you as the highest bidder.

Matching max bids

When there are two max bids of the same value, the one placed first remains the lead bidder.

Pre-authorisation

We may hold a pre-authorisation charge on your card until the end of the auction when the hold will be cancelled. If you win, we'll take a security deposit which counts towards the payment for the vehicle and isn't any extra cost to you.

What are pre-bids?

A pre-bid means you're able to place a bid before the official start of the auction.
You will be notified whether or not you are the highest bidder when the auction starts.

Problem with your bid

Bids are contractually binding. To help protect you, we have some rules in place if we think it's been mistyped. Please check and amend what you have entered.
