The Background

Jaguar’s XJ series is one that has lasted the test of time, it’s origin started back in the late 60’s and has continued through multiple iterations all the way until 2019.
In 2003, Jaguar released the model we see here which is an X350, a re-engineered and newly designed XJ model with an all-aluminium body and chassis (which made it 40% lighter than its predecessor), better interior and more luggage space. This model was the first to be designed under the ownership of Ford with all of its electronics and computer controlled systems either supplied directly by Ford or through their partner suppliers.

The History

This beautiful Jaguar has been very well kept throughout it’s previous ownerships as can be seen by the photographs - the vehicle appears in fantastic condition for its age and mileage, it would appear money was no object when it came to care for this Jag.
Registered on the 24th of December of 2006 (a wicked Christmas present, don’t you think?), the car was bought brand new from a dealer in the Chester area and was maintained at a Jaguar dealership religiously. The dealership which maintained the vehicle then changed to a Lexus main dealer - however they still honoured their valuable customer and continued to service and look after the car after the switch up until the owner sold the car after doing only 17,000 miles in it in 2011, and the second owner kept and maintained the vehicle up until 109,000 miles.

The Paperwork

Ample service paperwork is available with the vehicle showcasing how well kept the car has been. Relevant MOT certificates are present. There is also a sales invoice from a Jaguar dealer showing the sale of the vehicle in 2011 at a total of £17,000.
The V5C is available and ready for transfer and the vehicle handbook and log book are present with the car.

The Interior

Still as lush and lavish as it was 14 years ago, the interior of this XJ6 is what you’d expect from an executive luxury saloon of the era. Beautiful cream leather and stitching with wooden inlays on the door panels and dashboard, with chrome laced throughout.

The front seats are still in excellent condition considering the cars age and mileage, the drivers seat only shows some very minor signs of wear on the lower bolster, however apart from this, the leather is still tight and the stitching is all still intact. The front passenger seat doesn’t have the small signs of wear on the bolsters and look almost brand new - the same can be said for the leather which wraps around the centre console and armrest. To keep cream leather this beautiful for this amount of time is a testament to how well cared for this beautiful Jag has been throughout the years.
The rear seats look as though they have been rarely used over the years, no rips or tears throughout and the stitching is still beautifully kept, and the leather still tight. The rear of the front seats show no signs of kick marks that are almost always present, the leather pouches are still spotless and the plastic backs appear to be completely scratch free. The unblemished cosmetic echoes throughout this car, even the door cards are very well kept with only some minor rubber scuff marks on the drivers front speaker grill (something we are all too guilty of doing) - this is easily removed however. The floor carpets front and rear are still present and in great shape too.
Central on the dashboard is the main switch panel and vents, along with an analog clock face with the jaguar logo - a lovely addition which we don’t see too often in modern cars, a symbolism of class and luxury. All of the switches still have their screen printed text and logos fully visible, and everything still functions as it should. The gauge cluster has no unwanted warning lights and all the dials remain functional as you’d expect from such a well kept car.
To this day, still a wonderfully lavish place to be, exuding the utmost comfort all these years later.

The Exterior

Outside this beautiful XJ, the story remains much the same. Great care has been taken to ensure this car is as lovely as it can be, and the bodywork reflects just that. Finished in a gorgeous metallic 'Frost Blue' it simply echoes the volumes of class this car gives off. All 4 wheels appear to be in fantastic shape with no horrible road rash or paint flakes - the silver finish still shines wonderfully.
Starting with the front end, the bumper and chrome inlays are still beautifully presented under the dazzling chrome grill, no signs of corrosion or fading are present here. The headlights have no signs of cracks or damage either. The bonnet and both front wings are in very much the same condition - lovely with only minimal stone chips that have been touched in, which is to be completely expected of a car with this mileage and age. Proof of the care taken with this XJ6!
All 4 doors are in great shape with only a small scratch on the lower part of the drivers side rear door which has been touched up. The panel gaps still look as good as they did when this Jaguar rolled off the factory floor in 2006. The chrome handles and window trims are still as bright as ever with no signs of damage or neglect, the same is to be said for any exterior plastic trim like the areas around the mirrors - an area where most cars suffer, but not this XJ! There is also a small car park mark on the passenger side rear arch, but it’s easily dismissed thanks to the overall shape of the car.
The rear of the car, still as beautiful as ever. One of the more distinctive Jaguar rear ends of its time, and one we absolutely adore - especially in this colour. The rear lights are in great condition with no cracks or signs of fading, all of the chrome trim both on the bootlid and the bumper corners is still pristine. It’s extremely difficult to pick any flaws with this car - it really is as nice as the pictures show it to be.

The Mechanics

Mechanically, this car wants for nothing. The 2.7L Ford V6 diesel engine still starts up and purrs as it should with no unwelcome rattles or ticks. It still blissfully glides through the 6-speed auto box without any problems or jerks. The air suspension still works as expected, too!
All of the interior creature comforts still function too - electric front seats, electric windows, and all of the switches and buttons contained in the center console are functional. Any problems noticed with this vehicle throughout its life have been addressed when necessary - a truly pampered vehicle that has been treated with care and admiration over the years, and rightly so. What a beautiful car to have in your own possession.

The Appeal

The X350 shape Jaguar is among our favourites, it is the last of the “classic” Jaguar appearance before the manufacturer took a large leap into modernising its designs. The long body style oozes class and always makes for a good head-turner on the road, especially in such an elegant colourway.
To find an XJ6 in such lovely condition such as this is a rare find, so don’t hesitate to get involved with this!

About Max Bids

The max bid process allows you to bid without any hassle.

Enter your maximum bid and we will then bid on your behalf to ensure you're the highest bidder - just enough to keep you in the lead and only up until your maximum.

Anti-sniping

Car & Classic prevent auction snipers from bidding in the last seconds to win an auction.

Auctions are extended by 3 minutes if anyone bids within the last 2 minutes to allow other bidders to react and counter-bid.

Auto-bidding increments

  • If your maximum bid is equal to or below the reserve price, your maximum bid will be applied in full if you are the highest bidder.
  • If you are the highest bidder and place a maximum bid above the reserve, we will automatically put in the reserve as your first bid.
    • Once the reserve has been met, Car & Classic will make sure you are the highest bidder using only the bidding increments stated below.
    • We will keep you in the lead up until your maximum bid OR the increment closest to your maximum bid, providing your maximum bid is enough to cover the increment value.

Bid Amount Increment
£0 to £9,999 £100.00
£10,000 to £49,999 £250.00
£50,000 to £99,999 £500.00
£100,000 + £1,000.00

Automatically outbid immediately

When you place a max bid and are outbid immediately that means that another bidder has placed a max bid limit which is higher than yours.

You can bid again and we will use our automatic bid system to try and get you as the highest bidder.

Matching max bids

When there are two max bids of the same value, the one placed first remains the lead bidder.

Pre-authorisation

We may hold a pre-authorisation charge on your card until the end of the auction when the hold will be cancelled. If you win, we'll take a security deposit which counts towards the payment for the vehicle and isn't any extra cost to you.

What are pre-bids?

A pre-bid means you're able to place a bid before the official start of the auction.
You will be notified whether or not you are the highest bidder when the auction starts.

Problem with your bid

Bids are contractually binding. To help protect you, we have some rules in place if we think it's been mistyped. Please check and amend what you have entered.
