The Background

Pushing the boundaries of a 4x4, Land Rover produced a 2.5 tonne luxury off roader known simply as the Range Rover, which, as we know, has been around for many years. This is the third generation Range Rover, where things took a turn in the luxury and performance department, with the introduction of the 390 bhp, 4.2 litre supercharged V8, capable of 0-62mph in 7.6 seconds.

The History

The seller of this 2006 Range Rover Supercharged is a Range Rover specialist and has described this as one of the best available today. Tempting as it may be to keep it for themselves, this L322 is ready to embark on its next journey with a new custodian. Seldom do we see Range Rover's in this condition and with such low mileage. It really is testament to the three former keepers.

The Paperwork

The V5 is present and shows 3 former keepers.
There are 2 keys, wallet, handbooks and service booklet showing 8 stamps.
A recent MOT has been carried out on the 16th September, where it passed with no advisories.

The Interior

Soft black leather is what greets you as you open the door and step into the luxury. The electric front seats are in excellent condition, with just some very slight age related creasing to the base of the driver’s seat and bolster.
The dashboard is free from any scuffs or damage, and it is reported that there are no warning lights to raise any concerns. The instruments are all working as they should with the odometer displaying a reading of 50,963 miles. The piano black trim to the sides of the centre dash sections are unmarked, which is often not the case with this type of trim. The multifunction steering wheel is in good order, with just a couple of light scratches to be seen.
The media centre is connected to the built in headrest screens, which should be enough to keep the kids entertained on a long journey.  The carpet throughout is in good order, with no excessive wear to be seen, and is in keeping with the mileage of the vehicle.

One point that the vendor would like to note is the rear passenger heated seat buttons are worn and could benefit from a refurbishment or replacement. This is quite common on the rear centre console as the buttons are placed close to the footwell.
Into the boot area, and this is in the same condition as the rest of the vehicle, very well presented. The parcel shelf pulls back and sits in place.

The Exterior

Looking around this Range Rover, all of the panel gaps look to be nice and even around all of the doors, bonnet and boot, and there are no annoying dings or dents to be seen. The seller is keen to point out that there is also no corrosion in the usual places such as the inner wheel arches, bottom inside edge of the doors and the tailgate.
Looking at the front of the vehicle, the headlights are free from any cracks or heavy chips. There are a few small chips, but definitely less than you would expect for the year thanks to the low mileage.
Moving around to the long sides, you can see they are nice and straight. The door gaps look to align nice and even, with a nice straight uninterrupted swage line. The windows are in good order with no scratches that we can see, and the rear half has been tinted for a touch of class and privacy.
Around to the rear, and the clean rear end is free from any scuffs thanks to the parking sensors. The clear light lenses are as expected and free from any cracks. The wheels have received a recent refurbish to freshen them up, just because there were a couple of areas of flaking paint on some of the spokes. The tyres are all in good order with a nice amount of tread remaining.

The Mechanics

The 4.2 Litre V8 has an Eaton supercharger strapped to it, giving an impressive 390 bhp and 414 lb-ft of torque. This is coupled to the outstanding ZF six-speed automatic gearbox.

The Range Rover is reported to start up just as it should, with no untoward noises coming from the engine bay. The seller comments that the vehicle pulls well through all of the gears and the change is effortless and smooth.

The suspension  is all reported to be working correctly, with no issues to be found. Just set the type of terrain and off you go.

Bringing the 2.5 tonne Range to a halt in a nice straight line, with no juddering, are the Brembo brakes, which are reported to be in good order.

The Appeal

This is your chance to own a high powered luxury 4x4, at a fraction of the cost when new.
You get a plush leather interior, with the impressive Supercharged 4.2 litre V8, that has covered just 50,968 miles - it could be considered as just run in! Another bonus is that it has just received a service, around 70 miles ago, ready for its new owner.

About Max Bids

The max bid process allows you to bid without any hassle.

Enter your maximum bid and we will then bid on your behalf to ensure you're the highest bidder - just enough to keep you in the lead and only up until your maximum.

Anti-sniping

Car & Classic prevent auction snipers from bidding in the last seconds to win an auction.

Auctions are extended by 3 minutes if anyone bids within the last 2 minutes to allow other bidders to react and counter-bid.

Auto-bidding increments

  • If your maximum bid is equal to or below the reserve price, your maximum bid will be applied in full if you are the highest bidder.
  • If you are the highest bidder and place a maximum bid above the reserve, we will automatically put in the reserve as your first bid.
    • Once the reserve has been met, Car & Classic will make sure you are the highest bidder using only the bidding increments stated below.
    • We will keep you in the lead up until your maximum bid OR the increment closest to your maximum bid, providing your maximum bid is enough to cover the increment value.

Bid Amount Increment
£0 to £9,999 £100.00
£10,000 to £49,999 £250.00
£50,000 to £99,999 £500.00
£100,000 + £1,000.00

Automatically outbid immediately

When you place a max bid and are outbid immediately that means that another bidder has placed a max bid limit which is higher than yours.

You can bid again and we will use our automatic bid system to try and get you as the highest bidder.

Matching max bids

When there are two max bids of the same value, the one placed first remains the lead bidder.

Pre-authorisation

We may hold a pre-authorisation charge on your card until the end of the auction when the hold will be cancelled. If you win, we'll take a security deposit which counts towards the payment for the vehicle and isn't any extra cost to you.

What are pre-bids?

A pre-bid means you're able to place a bid before the official start of the auction.
You will be notified whether or not you are the highest bidder when the auction starts.

Problem with your bid

Bids are contractually binding. To help protect you, we have some rules in place if we think it's been mistyped. Please check and amend what you have entered.
