Highlights
・200 mph Super Saloon
・Desirable Speed model
・Great condition inside and out
・Low mileage
The Background
This Continental Flying Spur is not short of comfort or technology, and visually the car is distinguished by a dark tinted front grille, a ride height that sits 10mm lower than the standard model and unique 20 inch multi-spoke alloys.
This is a refined super saloon that has a lovely burble from that W12 engine, and inside you can enjoy the stunning Naim premium audio system. Whether you're the driver or being chauffeured this Bentley is now available at an affordable price and looks as fresh as when it was picked up from the showroom back in 2008.
The History
The Flying Spur Speed was an update of Bentley’s Continental Saloon, this “hot” version added more power and had a claimed 200 mph top speed. The 6 litre twin turbocharged W12 produced 553lb ft of torque and could get from 0-60 in 4.5 seconds, also 0-100mph would happen in 10.5 seconds, amazing figures when you consider the cars near three tonne kerb weight. A super car clad in a sedate saloon that would get you to any location in the most comfort you could imagine and hasn’t aged over the years is all the car you could ever want.
The Paperwork
With a full Bentley dealer service history the car has been looked after mechanically all its life. The last service was in 2018 and the seller will include a new Bentley service within the price of the vehicle. Receipts are shown that cover extensive work in January 2018, and service receipts in July 2016 and May 2017. We understand the service book is stamped prior to these dates with Bentley dealerships.
All manuals, folders are present along with two keys which operate perfectly.
The Interior
The appearance of this car may be subtle and gracious on the exterior but inside it is full of opulence, quilted Ivory leather upholstery and door trims, memory seats with massage controls, a three-spoke sports steering wheel and drilled aluminium pedals. The Naim audio system would have been a £5000 option from new and pumps out 1100 watts through the custom built speakers.
Inside the car has been looked after to a high standard and from the sellers description there is just a light scuff on the near side front tread plate, to be expected from a 13 year old car. Leather is in excellent condition as are the instrument controls and dials, plus carpets and headlining are in good order.
The Rear headrests in the front seats have TV’s fitted to them alongside climate control for the rear occupants, seat facings are clean and free of scuffs or any rips. The vast boot is also in excellent condition, the thick pile carpet throughout has been maintained to a high standard.
Another addition is the electric sunroof that is fully operational and lightens up the cabin nicely.
The Exterior
The unique “Speed” 20 inch alloy wheels are all in excellent condition due to a recent refurbishment, tyres have good tread and the brakes are working perfectly according to the seller with good bite and feel to them.
The dark blue metallic paintwork is in superb condition and there are no visible scuffs or scratches around the vehicle. Headlights and rear lights are free of any damage as are the bumpers, for a large car this has been looked after and driven with great care throughout its life.
The Mechanics
With a full Bentley dealer up to 2018 and specialist service history the car has been looked after from day one by all owners, as mentioned a full Bentley service will be included in the price of the car giving you peace of mind that this car will be ready to enjoy from the day it is collected.
The Appeal
If you had to have a car that ticked all the boxes then surely it would be this, back in 2008 it would have exceeded £133,000 today it is a cut price bargain and will put you and the family in total comfort, plus on the autobahn you’ll not be short of pace with that claimed 200mph.
Very few cars still look fresh and current thirteen years down the line, but the Continental Flying Spur Speed does, not just in looks but also its exceptional condition inside and out.
