Background
Looking for a coupe’ with high performance, luxury, elegance, and some of the world’s top technology? —then look no further, this 2-door Mercedes-Benz CL-500 has a luxurious colour combination of obsidian black exterior with rich interior design.
The car is rather special as it has been cared for extremely conscientiously and is sure to have people look twice as you drive around. Additionally, the current owner is offering a nationwide delivery option with a charge of only £1.50 per mile.
The History
The Mercedes-Benz CL-Class is a full-size grand tourer manufactured by Mercedes-Benz. The CL stands for Comfort Leicht in German, or Comfort Light in English.
This model’s design was originated from the SL-Class roadster and has since been based on the S-Class sedan. The Mercedes CL-class models continue to follow the same development cycle as the S-Class till date, though riding on a slightly shorter wheelbase and offering smaller selection of engines tending towards the high-powered range.
The current owner of this car on offer, has advocated that all the MOTs have been carried out without any advisories and valid until March 2022. What stands out most about this beast is the high-quality AMG body kit in excellent condition.
The car has been well maintained since first owned. Sadly, due to not much use the seller has decided to let go of this beauty, making it is a very reluctant but necessary sale.
The Paperwork
The owner possess the original V5C document issued by the DVLA to confirm proof of ownership, specifications, addresses and history.
Additionally, well maintained original Mercedes handbooks for the car are also available. You won’t find such an appreciative Benz owner who values his car.
The Interior
The interior design of this 2008 Mercedes-Benz CL-Class takes a minimalist approach by emphasising on rich materials like a mix of attractive wood trim and shiny bits on the dash and avoids the potential clutter of buttons and switches by integrating the other noon essential controls into Mercedes-Benz's "Intuitive Operating Concept" screen-driven interface.
Overall, this car looks like a treat - with the exterior complementing an interior trimmed in ventilated leather, a fascia dashtop and carpeting in good order. Additionally, many other Mercedes coupes are less suited to rear-seat passengers than this excellent CL500 model. There are no belts to trip over when going into or out of the backseat as the front bucket seats feature integrated safety belts.
The Exterior
One of the best attributes of this 2 door CL500 is its pillarless-coupe profile, which emphasizes its flowing roofline. The obsidian black paint on it makes it look quite sublime, making anyone fall in love with the car on the spot, and is in good condition till date.
It has absolutely no crazing or damage, although it does have some minor road chips, as to be expected. Like the S-Class, this CL500 has a rather pronounced front and rear fender flares. The car preserves its instantly recognisable styling cues in all its magic and splendour, putting the onlooker into quite a spell.
Another standing out feature of this car is the sunroof, that is simplistic and effortless to use. The car is stunning impervious example of its low mileage credentials, guaranteeing you a sense of elation every time you take it out for a spin. Moreover, its alloy wheels are virtually unmarked, and the tyres are all good.
The Mechanics
A cutting-edge eight-cylinder engine with 285 kW/388 horsepower, sits beneath the hood of this CL 500. In the New European Driving Cycle, the combined fuel consumption of this model is 12.1 litres per 100 kilometres, which is yet another benefit of the Mercedes all-wheel-drive system.
This Benz requires just 5.4 seconds to accelerate from zero to 100 km/h and reaches an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h. Moreover, the car is stuffed with technology for power, safety, and traction, a trio of techno systems designed to reduce the risk of a collision using forward-looking microwave radar.
In addition to the mechanics, the car comes with 2 original ignition keys as well. This CL feels every bit the driving machine that its formidable appearance suggests on the road.
The Appeal
This Mercedes-Benz CL500 is undoubtedly a niche vehicle. It is just as good a cruiser as its sporting siblings for those with over £100,000 to spend on a sumptuous GT. The V8 engine on this CL500 has a silky-smooth ride and plenty of power.
The car’s ability to softly absorb nearly any road surface and simply glide along is truly remarkable. While it is far from a sports car, it is surprisingly agile and composed for a coupe.
