2009 Range Rover Vogue

Highlights

・Low mileage of just 47,192
・Enviable ‘black on black’ paint and trim
・Diesel TDV8 engine

The Background

The successor to the P38 and the Classic before that, the L322 brought with it new levels of refinement, luxury, power and of course, off-road ability. Clean cut, but still packing plenty of purpose, it was an instant hit. A rolling executive lounge that is as comfortable on the A14 as it is in the fields next to it. The pick of the bunch, of course, has always been the Vogue. Ideally with a thumping great TDV8 engine under the bonnet. Happily, that’s exactly what we have here. But they aren’t the only selling points. This one is metallic black with black leather interior trim - the best options. It’s also only covered a mere 47,000 miles over its life. If you want an L322 Range Rover, this is the one, make no mistake.

The History

Registered on the 11th of March, 2009, this Range Rover was with its first owner until 2015 at which point it had covered a hair over 3,000 miles. The second owner got a little more use out of it, and brought it up to a still low 18,500 miles by 2017. As is covered in the documentation, the second owner sadly passed away. A business colleague was able to purchase it though, and he kept it until December of last year, by which time the mileage was 37,500. Unfortunately, due to the nature of the sale and by not wanting to pester the family, the service history wasn’t obtained. However, there is still plenty of paperwork with the car. Plus, the condition speaks for itself. That third owner had the car fully serviced upon buying it, and there is documentation for all works after.
The current owner bought the Vogue to use as a wedding car for a family member, and fell in love with it in the process. He’s put a further 10k on, bringing the mileage to the current 47,000. An incredibly small number when you consider this car’s peers are almost all in triple digits by this point. It presents a very rare opportunity for you to acquire a low-mileage example of a fine vehicle. The current owner has other cars that demand his attention, hence the sale.

The Paperwork

There is a good deal of paperwork included. There is a current V5, of course. There is an MOT certificate valid until December 2021. There is also a print out of the previous MOT history. Nothing worrisome to report, other than some slight binding on rear brakes however these have now been sorted with brand new discs/pads both sides, and the typical ‘brake line covered in grease’.
Previous invoices for work show that this Range Rover has been cared for. Full services, the wheels have been refurbished in the past, a new horn has been fitted, it’s been regularly maintained by Stratstone Land Rover, with service bills for £603, £560 and £712 amongst others. It had a recent Yuasa battery, rear brakes this year, a new power steering cooler (a £787 bill alone). A new Alternator (£712) was also fitted and in total, the car has had £2800 spent on it in the past 12 months. Yes indeed, it has been very well looked after.

The Interior

It’s in very good condition throughout. In fact, the rear seats literally still have the tags on them! It’s evident that this Range Rover has lived a cherished life. The interior really is excellent. There are no marks or imperfections on the inviting black leather, the carpets are all excellent, the sill plates aren’t all that worn or scratched. The only thing we could see was some slight signs of use on the steering wheel, but that’s to be expected.
The dash is bright and clear with no dead pixels nor any warning lights. The centre screen is in excellent condition, too. All the buttons and switchgear function as they should, as do all the electrical features such as the climate control, stereo, seats and so on. It’s all functional and all in good condition. Even the headlining is still tight and secure where it should be, unlike many other Range Rovers. The car also comes with optional extra having the cabin heated by way of the remote control key fob! Meaning you can stay inside the comfort of your own home on those cold winter mornings, until the car is up to the desired temperature.
The split/fold tailgate functions as it should, and the boot has been fitted with a fitted liner to stop any harm coming to the carpets. As for the other doors, all are in good order, all the door cards are excellent with no scuffs or marks and all the switches work.

The Exterior

As you can see, this Range Rover presents very well indeed. The metallic black paint is unforgiving in nature, so we’re happy to report that there are no significant scratches or defects. There are some pinprick stone chips on the bonnet, and a couple of tiny nics on the rear bumper, and there is some fine surface rust coming through on the inner lips of the rear arches (pictured) but that’s it. Look down the big flanks of this car and you see clear, deep paint with nothing so much as a swirl from over exuberant polishing. It’s been looked after and it shows.
The lights are all in good order both front and back. The front fogs were a little condensed, but this soon goes when the lights are on. The glass is excellent all round, as are the mirrors, chrome side inserts and also the roof. There is a tow bar fitted too, though the current owner stresses he’s never actually used it for towing.
The wheels are in good condition, and the tyres have ample life in them. The offside front alloy has one small bit of corrosion, while the nearside had kissed the curb once - but they are ‘bend down and look’ marks, they certainly don’t draw the eye. We have photographed them for you, naturally.
Look through the pictures and you’ll see just how well this Vogue presents. It’s been cared for, it’s been loved and it has never been subjected to anything that would cause it harm. It’s quite a stunning machine, one that with the addition of a private plate, the neighbours would think was much, much newer!

The Mechanics

As you would anticipate for a car with such low mileage, it’s in tip top mechanical health. It sounds strong, and the owner tells us that there are no issues, there are no warnings and that it drives as you would expect. The all-important air suspension is in good order and works as it should, with the owner happily able to raise the car for us to get some shots underneath.
It’s been well maintained, it has barely any miles on it in comparison to most others out there and it has been driven with genuine care. You won’t find a better one than this, that’s for sure. And some key big things have been addressed already like the rear brakes, the power steering cooler and the battery, your peace of mind can run high with this.

The Appeal

Perfect spec, low miles, good history. What more could you ask for? This is flagship motoring, a car that was £66,000 when new. But this will only be a fraction of that. And you get to buy knowing it’s not been abused, it’s not been bounced through fields and it’s not been run by people who want champagne motoring but only have lemonade money. This is the complete package, the right colour, the right engine, the right… everything. If you’re looking for an L322 Range Rover, this is it. Make no mistake.

About Max Bids

The max bid process allows you to bid without any hassle.

Enter your maximum bid and we will then bid on your behalf to ensure you're the highest bidder - just enough to keep you in the lead and only up until your maximum.

Anti-sniping

Car & Classic prevent auction snipers from bidding in the last seconds to win an auction.

Auctions are extended by 3 minutes if anyone bids within the last 2 minutes to allow other bidders to react and counter-bid.

Auto-bidding increments

  • If your maximum bid is equal to or below the reserve price, your maximum bid will be applied in full if you are the highest bidder.
  • If you are the highest bidder and place a maximum bid above the reserve, we will automatically put in the reserve as your first bid.
    • Once the reserve has been met, Car & Classic will make sure you are the highest bidder using only the bidding increments stated below.
    • We will keep you in the lead up until your maximum bid OR the increment closest to your maximum bid, providing your maximum bid is enough to cover the increment value.

Bid Amount Increment
£0 to £9,999 £100.00
£10,000 to £49,999 £250.00
£50,000 to £99,999 £500.00
£100,000 + £1,000.00

Automatically outbid immediately

When you place a max bid and are outbid immediately that means that another bidder has placed a max bid limit which is higher than yours.

You can bid again and we will use our automatic bid system to try and get you as the highest bidder.

Matching max bids

When there are two max bids of the same value, the one placed first remains the lead bidder.

Pre-authorisation

We may hold a pre-authorisation charge on your card until the end of the auction when the hold will be cancelled. If you win, we'll take a security deposit which counts towards the payment for the vehicle and isn't any extra cost to you.

What are pre-bids?

A pre-bid means you're able to place a bid before the official start of the auction.
You will be notified whether or not you are the highest bidder when the auction starts.

Problem with your bid

Bids are contractually binding. To help protect you, we have some rules in place if we think it's been mistyped. Please check and amend what you have entered.
