2015 KTM RC390

Highlights

• As-new, delivery mileage
• Kept in heated, dry storage
• Never used on main roads since purchase

The Background

Often touted as a ‘Moto 3 racer for the road’ the KTM RC390 was introduced in 2014 and has been widely regarded by journalists and enthusiasts alike as one of the best A2 license-friendly sports bikes that money can buy.
Powered by a single-cylinder 373cc motor, the RC390 places emphasis on handling and cornering ability over outright speed, making it an excellent fit for the twisting lanes and B-roads found throughout the UK.
Forcing its rider to maintain momentum through corners and twisting sections, the RC390 has impressive sporting credentials and even had its own single-make support race for British Superbikes - the KTM RC 390 Cup - which gives this single-cylinder sports bike plenty of racing pedigree.
Significantly updated to conform to new Euro4 requirements in 2017, pre-upgrade bikes are, of course, no longer available to purchase. But what about one with delivery mileage? Well, step this way…

The History

Purchased new by our vendor in 2015, this RC390 has covered a mere 23 miles according to its odometer - that’s it!
Since purchasing the bike, it has been kept in dry, heated storage at the vendors home, and has never seen use on the open road.
Remaining in factory specification and having only had an oil and filter change in 2016, this really is the opportunity to obtain an as-new 2015-registered KTM RC390.

The Paperwork

Included with the bike is all the usual paperwork and documentation from a new vehicle purchase, KTM manuals and handbooks, and the invoice from the aforementioned oil and filter change in 2016.

The Interior

Being a bike, there is no ‘interior’ to speak of, naturally.
The seat remains in pristine, unused condition, and there are no signs of usage or wear. The usual high-traffic areas such as around the fuel tank, foot pegs and levers are all immaculate, and there are none of the usual scuffs or marks to the handlebars or hand controls.
To the best of the vendors knowledge, all systems are working as they should be, and there are no warning lights illuminated on the instrument panel.

The Exterior

Remaining in as-new condition throughout, there really is no sign of use at all - as you’d expect from a bike with less than 25 miles on the odometer.
The bright KTM graphics and paintwork are absolutely immaculate throughout, with no stone chips, marks or scratches to speak of. The contrasting KTM orange frame is also unmarked, whilst the wheels are also free of stone chips and the usual usage marks seen on a bike of this age, on account of its low mileage.
The windscreen has no chips or scratches, whilst the mirror caps, pegs, and lenses are all blemish-free and have barely seen the road at all, so are also free of the usual smattering of stone chips and other regular usage marks.

The Mechanicals

23 miles. That’s all this bike has covered in its six years of existence, the majority of which has been spent in the vendor’s conservatory - just TWENTY SIX miles. Let that sink in for a moment…
On account of its low usage, the mechanicals of this RC390 are immaculate and box-fresh throughout. There are no signs of any oil leaks, dried up seals or usage as far as we can see, and there have been no aftermarket parts or modifications fitted to the bike.
As previously stated, the oil and filter were changed during 2016 with the invoice for this present in the history folder, but otherwise there has been no requirement for any maintenance or servicing.
Due to having been laid-up for such an extended period of time, the vendor notes the bike will require a new battery, but there are no other known faults or mechanical issues.
There is, of course, no valid MOT certificate, meaning the next owner will have to arrange for this to be sorted once they take delivery of the bike. Otherwise, it’s ready to simply hop on and enjoy!

The Appeal

Short of inventing a time machine, this is likely the only way you’d have the opportunity to buy an as-new, delivery-milage bike from 2015.
Presented in immaculate showroom-fresh condition throughout, this 2015 KTM RC 390 is ready for the next owner to simply hop on and enjoy, and will likely feel just as fresh and crisp today as it would’ve six years ago. One for the collectors as much as for the riders, this is an opportunity not to be missed by any two-wheeled enthusiasts.

About Max Bids

The max bid process allows you to bid without any hassle.

Enter your maximum bid and we will then bid on your behalf to ensure you're the highest bidder - just enough to keep you in the lead and only up until your maximum.

Anti-sniping

Car & Classic prevent auction snipers from bidding in the last seconds to win an auction.

Auctions are extended by 3 minutes if anyone bids within the last 2 minutes to allow other bidders to react and counter-bid.

Auto-bidding increments

  • If your maximum bid is equal to or below the reserve price, your maximum bid will be applied in full if you are the highest bidder.
  • If you are the highest bidder and place a maximum bid above the reserve, we will automatically put in the reserve as your first bid.
    • Once the reserve has been met, Car & Classic will make sure you are the highest bidder using only the bidding increments stated below.
    • We will keep you in the lead up until your maximum bid OR the increment closest to your maximum bid, providing your maximum bid is enough to cover the increment value.

Bid Amount Increment
£0 to £9,999 £100.00
£10,000 to £49,999 £250.00
£50,000 to £99,999 £500.00
£100,000 + £1,000.00

Automatically outbid immediately

When you place a max bid and are outbid immediately that means that another bidder has placed a max bid limit which is higher than yours.

You can bid again and we will use our automatic bid system to try and get you as the highest bidder.

Matching max bids

When there are two max bids of the same value, the one placed first remains the lead bidder.

Pre-authorisation

We may hold a pre-authorisation charge on your card until the end of the auction when the hold will be cancelled. If you win, we'll take a security deposit which counts towards the payment for the vehicle and isn't any extra cost to you.

What are pre-bids?

A pre-bid means you're able to place a bid before the official start of the auction.
You will be notified whether or not you are the highest bidder when the auction starts.

Problem with your bid

Bids are contractually binding. To help protect you, we have some rules in place if we think it's been mistyped. Please check and amend what you have entered.
