2021 Peel P50

Highlights

• Extremely rare opportunity
• Incredibly well cared for and treasured
• Low mileage
• Immaculate Condition

The Background

The Peel P50 was originally produced between 1962 and 1965 on the Isle of Man, as a small, affordable city car designed to be used on light shopping and commuting runs. You may recognize this iconic vehicle from a now legendary feature on an old episode of Top Gear, in which Jeremy Clarkson takes the Peel P50 on an adventure through the BBC offices.

Following high demand for the iconic P50, it was later revived in 2010, where it was featured in the 2010 Guiness Book of World Records as the world’s smallest production car.

Each part of the new P50 was painstakingly recreated to give the vehicle as much in common with the original as possible, whilst still maintaining a road legal status. Even today, it is exceptionally difficult to tell the original and remastered P50s apart at first glance.

The History

Built to order by Pendine Motors LTD, this Peel P50 was manufactured on the 8th of March 2021, and has been in the care of its current owner ever since. Since owning the little P50, the current owner has only driven it a small number of occasions, loving every outing. The few outings in the vehicle are reflected in the incredibly low mileage, of just 521 miles.

Throughout its ownership, the P50 has been dry stored in a heated garage and exceptionally well cared for, evidence of which can be seen with the vehicle’s immaculate interior and exterior condition. As the vehicle sees very little use, the current owner has decided to pass the torch onto the next owner, who they wish will take it on it’s next adventure and give it a truly good home.

The Paperwork

The current owner has done a great job of compiling all of the vehicle’s paperwork to date, including the original bill of sale, registration paperwork and V5.

As the vehicle has covered such few miles and isn’t even a year old yet, it was needed for nothing and is ready for it’s next adventure.

The Interior

Although the Peel P50 isn’t renowned for a rather lavish interior, and instead opts to favour practicality and weight reduction where possible, it’s a truly great place to be. Sitting inside a P50 is unlike any other experience. You’re greeted with minimal creature comforts and a rather peculiar seat… but rather surprisingly, the overwhelming joy of driving the vehicle has your mind elsewhere. That being said, the interior is in excellent condition.

The seat shows no signs of damage or wear, nor do any of the pedals, the steering wheel or the dash. Yet another testament to the current owner’s care is the floor, which despite not being carpeted or covered over, is exceptionally clean.

Each bolt holding the frame in place is as shiny as when it left the factory, as is the windscreen and surrounding glass. Embark on the mission of squeezing inside this little P50 and you’ll see just how tidy and clean the interior is.

The Exterior

The exterior of this quirky little trike is in immaculate condition. Having been dry stored in a garage and meticulously well cared for, the paintwork and all trim pieces show no signs of wear and tear and present themselves very well.

The underside of the vehicle alone is a prime example of just how few miles have been covered, with the paintwork looking as crisp underneath as the rest of the exterior. All 3 comically sized wheels are also in perfect condition, and the tyres barely show any use whatsoever.
Unlike the vast majority of vehicles on the road, this P50 could very easily qualify for a showroom condition exterior, to the point where it’s almost difficult to describe just how stunning the vehicle looks. With how it has been stored and maintained, along with the low mileage covered, there is no doubt whatsoever that the new owner of this adorable P50 will be over the moon with it’s condition.

It should be noted that the vehicle was dried and returned to the warm garage after the photos were taken.

The Mechanics

As the vehicle has covered so few miles from new, it performs exactly as it should, with no mechanical defects whatsoever. This P50 fires up right away, and gently purrs away waiting for it’s next mini adventure.

Although the vehicle doesn’t feature anything particularly advanced, the new owner will be pleased to know that every control and electrical component also works flawlessly, with no fault or issue. The vehicle also is completely standard with no modifications, other than a small amendment to the clutch cable.

As with every element of this Peel P50, the new owner is guaranteed to be over the moon with how it performs.

The Appeal

Being the world’s smallest production vehicle, the Peel P50 presents such a rare and quirky opportunity that few other vehicles will ever come close to.

This is a chance to not only own the record breaking tricycle, but such a fine example in incredible condition. If you’re looking for the next quirky addition to your collection or for a fun runabout to tootle around the city centre in, this Peel P50 is certainly the one for you.

About Max Bids

The max bid process allows you to bid without any hassle.

Enter your maximum bid and we will then bid on your behalf to ensure you're the highest bidder - just enough to keep you in the lead and only up until your maximum.

Anti-sniping

Car & Classic prevent auction snipers from bidding in the last seconds to win an auction.

Auctions are extended by 3 minutes if anyone bids within the last 2 minutes to allow other bidders to react and counter-bid.

Auto-bidding increments

  • If your maximum bid is equal to or below the reserve price, your maximum bid will be applied in full if you are the highest bidder.
  • If you are the highest bidder and place a maximum bid above the reserve, we will automatically put in the reserve as your first bid.
    • Once the reserve has been met, Car & Classic will make sure you are the highest bidder using only the bidding increments stated below.
    • We will keep you in the lead up until your maximum bid OR the increment closest to your maximum bid, providing your maximum bid is enough to cover the increment value.

Bid Amount Increment
£0 to £9,999 £100.00
£10,000 to £49,999 £250.00
£50,000 to £99,999 £500.00
£100,000 + £1,000.00

Automatically outbid immediately

When you place a max bid and are outbid immediately that means that another bidder has placed a max bid limit which is higher than yours.

You can bid again and we will use our automatic bid system to try and get you as the highest bidder.

Matching max bids

When there are two max bids of the same value, the one placed first remains the lead bidder.

Pre-authorisation

We may hold a pre-authorisation charge on your card until the end of the auction when the hold will be cancelled. If you win, we'll take a security deposit which counts towards the payment for the vehicle and isn't any extra cost to you.

What are pre-bids?

A pre-bid means you're able to place a bid before the official start of the auction.
You will be notified whether or not you are the highest bidder when the auction starts.

Problem with your bid

Bids are contractually binding. To help protect you, we have some rules in place if we think it's been mistyped. Please check and amend what you have entered.
