Ferrari 275 GTB Air Filter Box

The Part

Produced by Ferrari between 1964 and 1968, the 275 GTB is often claimed to be the best design of any production Ferrari Berlinetta, with its 275 GTB/4 variation praised as one of the best to drive. As such, these cars fetch a premium, and parts for them are hard to come by, especially on the auction market. However, a rare 275 GTB part is what we have here.

The part for sale here is an original air cleaner box for a six-carb variant of the 275 GTB. The seller, a well-known Ferrari collector and restorer, has decided the time has come to let this go, as it should be perched on a set of six twin-choke Weber 40 DCNs, rather than redundant on a shelf.

This item is an original, used Ferrari part that would be welcome and look right at home back on top of a 275’s power plant. It has the original stampings and Fispa badges inplace. The text and stampings read as follows:

Fispa 2231 07 Li3616 on badge

IGM BO 01295 stamping

It is in very good overall condition, and even the original thumb nuts have been retained. Of course, this is a ‘time served’ part, and as such there is a tiny bit of damage to the end of the legs, but this can be straightened without causing too much work.

This item is yet another released by a major Ferrari collector looking to offer some of their collection back into the enthusiast and specialist market. It has been in the loft for many years, and while we can’t identify the exact provenance of this item, it should be noted the owner has owned somewhere in the region of seventeen 275s, which may offer some indication as to where it once came from, because as well know, to own a classic or two is to also collect parts at any given opportunity!

Reproduction versions of this item are currently available for in excess of £3,500, which give you an idea of the rarity. To find an original, albeit used part is a rare, rare find indeed. If you have a 275, or even if you don’t, this is a part worth having in stock - it’s only going to get rarer.

 About the max bid process

The max bid process allows you to bid without any hassle.
Enter your maximum bid and we will then bid on your behalf to ensure you're the highest bidder - just enough to keep you in the lead and only up until your maximum.

About Max Bids

Anti-sniping

C&C prevent auction snipers from bidding in the last seconds to win an auction.
Auctions are extended by 10-minutes if anyone bids within the last 2 minutes to allow other bidders to react and counter-bid.

Auto-bidding increments

If your bid is below the reserve price you'll bid that amount if you are the highest bidder.
If you are the highest bidder and place a bid above the reserve we will only go up to the reserve price.
Once the reserve has been met C&C will make sure you are the highest bidder using the bidding increments stated below, keeping you in the lead up until your maximum bid.

Bid Amount Increment
£0 to £10,000£100.00
£10,000 to £50,000 £250.00
£50,000+ £500.00

Automatically outbid immediately

When you place a max bid and are outbid immediately that means that another bidder has placed a max bid limit which is higher than yours.
You can bid again and we will use our automatic bid system to try and get you as the highest bidder.

Matching max bids

When there are two max bids of the same value, the one placed first remains the lead bidder.
