1965 MG B Cabriolet
The MG B that suceeded the famous MGA was the first monocoque of the first brand, and it was lighter, yet as rigid as the MGA. The engine, the gearbox, the differential, the suspension system and the brakes were evolutions of the reputed, but simple and solid items, of the preceding generation. The cast iron four-cylinder engine's capacity was raised to 1.8 liters, giving a car an honorable power of 98bhp, and so the first series MGB managed a top speed of over 160km/h with modes consumption of the period. But its main asset, besides it stability and its style, was in it level of comfort that included winding windows and heating !
A European market version, the car on offer is a 1965 ivory white cabriolet, with black interior, and with a beautiful patina, equipped with a Moto Lita wooden steering wheel and additional yellow lamps. The car has benefited from a repaint in the past still in good condition today. The hood is also in good condition. Mechanically our test drive was satisfactory. Acquired by the current owner in 2010, the car runs regularly and his ready to be taken for nice long weekends getaway.
Auction estimate : €10 000/ 20 000 - No reserve
