Completely original in amazing condition with very low mileage and only one rider from new.
Comprehensive service record showing 9 services in just 7000 miles.
Always dry stored and ridden on dry days.
Apart from a small amount of lacquer flaking on the cam covers which they all seem to suffer from this bike is as close to perfect as you will find.
These first generation carb models are starting to be recognised as classics, being fantastic to ride, with bomb proof reliability and easy home servicing. The later EFI versions are marginally smoother, but a real pain to fault find and service at home due to their complex electrics.
There are lots of XJRs for sale. Most have been messed about and have many none standard parts fitted including none standard exhausts, huggers, bars, mirrors, lights, etc. If that's what you want then this is not the bike for you.
Originally purchased by a customer who never collected it from the dealer. It was then sold to the second owner. So it has 2 recorded keepers on the log book but only one rider who has cared for it very well, made no changes to it and always had it dealer serviced.
First register 01/07/2001 but never collected from the dealer
First rider bought the bike 08/09/2001 with 6 miles from the PDI showing on the clock.
We have paperwork signed by the original dealer to prove this.
Current mileage 7180 miles
Last service done at 7138 miles
MOT expires 21/05/2019
