Here we have our Triumph Stag for sale, which we (my wife and I) have owned for around 12 years. We bought the car from the guy just down the road who was advertising it for sale outside his house. The only reason he in fact sold it was to raise funds to finish works on his house.
Since being in our ownership we've had some good times with the car which has only ever been used in summertime and in dry weather.
Some key details and information for you:
• Year - 1974 (M)
• MOT & tax exempt (though we of course still prefer to got her MOT’d).
• Current MOT runs until May 2019.
• Just under 67,000 miles, and believed to be genuine. Cannot prove this however.
• Mimosa Yellow colour.
• Original V8 engine. No conversion to other V8 etc.
• 4 speed manual box, with overdrive.
• Tan interior.
• Soft top fully operational, but has small tear.
• Hard top too. This is currently on the car for ease of storage in our garage. The hard top is good, but not perhaps in as good condition as the main car. The would make a nice, and quite easy, little project to refurbish it.
• Immobiliser fitted. Not by us, but the former keepers. great for insurance company purposes however.
• Retro-fit rear seat belts fitted. Not by us, but working properly for our own young children to ride in the back.
Overall this car is great looking, very clean / shiny, very solid, and mechanically excellent. She’s never been refurbished, restored, or rebuilt. The mechanic at the local garage was recently very open and complimentary about the car when she had her service and MOT. She’s not perfect (because she has age, and has never been restored), otherwise we’d be asking more money, but she still a fantastic head turner when people see her and / or hear her coming down the road.
It is best to describe this car as very ‘honest’, certainly completely usable, and a pleasure to drive. That said she does offer a caring new owner a few ‘at home’ jobs and fettling opportunities, though there is absolutely nothing on the car that needs doing urgently.
We’ve enjoyed our time with this car and it will be sad to see her go. The only reason for sale is to create space in the garage to move onto another long desired car purchase.
No time-wasters please. We don't need to sell, but are selling for the right reasons.
