Jaguar XK150 FHC, 1957, British racing green For Sale

The car offered is one of the very first samples of Jaguar XK150 3,4 FHC, left-hand drive, built the 12th June 1957 and delivered to the american importer in New York, the 25th July of the same year. After 32 years, the car arrived in Italy in 1989 where it was fully restored by the previous owner; in Italy this car had 3 owners and since the restoration it ran just 6400 miles (1500 from the last service). After having checked, we can confirm that the car is matching numbers, it is also the 118th sample left-hand drive built. The last american country where the car had been registered was Texas. The original colour combination Cotswold blue with dark blue interior were replaced by the first italian owner to British racing green with brown interior. After the restoration, the car had been used regularly but for few miles, that’s why it is still in perfect conditions, complete of its whole original equipment; the overdrive improves the driving experience making up the shortages of the Moss gearbox, mounted on this model and on the first E-types as well. The car will be delivered with FIVA certificate, italian ASI homologation and Jaguar Heritage certificate; it is registered in Italy with the correct number of seats: 2+2. This XK150 has been the subject of a wonderful article on the italian magazine Automobilismo d’Epoca in 2015. The timeworn design of the XK140 had been updated with the latter 150, initially produced just in FHC and DHC versions: the OTS arrived only in 1958. Improved inner space, increased visibility, high level quality of the finish and a brilliant engine were the main features of the XK150: this model will surely grow up its quotation in the future, has happened with the E-type, whos value has already raisen up. With 193 hp, four disc brakes and the servo-assisted brake, indeed, the XK150 represents the best available technology on period GT cars. The car could be seen and tested in Modena, by appointment.
