1984 Mercedes Benz 280 SL (R107) For Sale

# 1984 A-reg 280SL (R107 shape) # 2.8 litre unleaded petrol engine is the most economical out of all the SL engine’s # £10,995 as stated # Pillar Box Red # Matching pillar box red factory hard top – with heated screen (it also comes with a roof stand – which is wheeled so you can move it easily around the garage) # Beige full leather interior – all in good condition (no rips or tears) # Heated front seats – and the smaller and very desirable rear leather seats (“2 + 2 configuration” with rear lap belts fitted) # All the interior beige (and black boot) carpet was replaced about 8 years ago # 165,500 miles – that equates to less than 5,000 miles per year. I’ve only put 25,000 miles on her in the last 12 years (that’s around 2,000 miles per year on average!) This is the main reason why the car is priced at its current value. # You can own this truly affordable modern classic car, that is continuing to appreciate year on year – in fact she’s so cool, she’s been in 2 separate photo shoots # Just passed its MOT. Full and long MOT – expires June 2020 # Brake pads, hoses and shoes recently replaced # Black soft top roof (1 small nick in the lower left hand side, where the roof frame has caught the fabric when putting the roof down – but it doesn’t let any water in) with ‘quick release’ roof keys permanently sat in place in the locks – it means you can get the roof off quicker and really easily with just 1 person # Automatic gearbox # Power steering # Front fog lights # ABS # Electric wing mirrors # Walnut dashboard # Cruise control – this I have been told is a very rare feature # Air conditioning # Electric windows # Fitted fully breathable weather (storm proof) cover – acts as a dust cover too # Sony CD player # 4x original alloys with 4 brand new tyres # Spare full set of 4 x 17” ‘spider’ alloys (I prefer these!) # Original 4 x alloy 14” wheels (not on car – but you will have them if you don’t like the current alloy wheels) # Remote central locking – after market Thatcham Cat 1 alarm / immobiliser fitted # Serviced regularly # All tools and manuals # Cosmetic external condition is very good for her age – however there are some very minor stone chips. No dents or big scratches # 2 sets of keys (plus alarm fobs) # All wheel arches and sills rust free # I’ve owned this car for the last 12 years and am very sad to see it go – genuine reason for sale: My wife bought a Ford Mustang, so we can’t have 2 convertibles as we have 3 small kids # I took her on a 1 month 2,500 mile tour of France about 8 years ago and she did the whole trip without any issues – even the guys with their Jaguar E types loved the car (went to see the classic Le Mans) # All the gorgeous chrome is still in place – and all of it is in good condition # Personally I think this is the best colour combination: Pillar box red and beige leather interior. She turns heads every time she goes out – both young and old love the styling # She starts every time, runs really well and is regularly driven – perfect for this spring and summer weather. # Mechanically sound # Mostly garaged for the last 10 years # Lots of original paperwork and old MOTs # You’ll really struggle to find a better spec’d car, in better condition, that drives as well, and looks as good as this for a better price # Sure, there are cars out there with 40,000k+ less miles on the clock, but they will cost you between £30,000 to £45,000+. These SL models easily run for 250,000+ miles (and then some). At under £11k you’ll bag yourself a really gorgeous modern classic bargain # Happy to arrange a viewing – no stupid low offers
