History of the 1967-1969 MG MGC
British Motor Holdings watched the Austin-Healey 3000 meet an early demise in 1967 due to American emissions and crash regulations, and the company quickly searched for a six-cylinder replacement. The solution BMH identified was to fit a 3.0-liter engine from an Austin Westminster into an MGB, resulting in the MGC.
The engine generated 150 hp, which was more than 50 hp greater than the MGB. With overdrive, the car could easily cruise at 80 mph all day and topped out around 120 mph. On the outside, the cars sported a hood bulge and a chrome strip that ran across the bulge; otherwise it remained true to the MGB. Underneath, the MGB’s coil spring suspension was replaced with torsion bars and wishbones with limited travel in order to make space for the bigger engine. Wheels were increased to 15 inches. The MGC was a relative bargain at $3,350 for the roadster and $3,715 for the GT coupe.
Unfortunately, the six-cylinder was initially designed for an application in which weight was not a critical factor. The six-cylinder motor weighed 350 pounds more than the MGB’s four-cylinder motor, with all of that additional weight resting in front of the MGC driver. The result was a 55-45% front weight bias, which was exacerbated when the car was equipped with the optional Borg-Warner automatic transmission. To solve this issue, the steering ratio was lowered 2.9 turns lock-to-lock to 3.5, though the car still suffered from understeer. Missing the Big Healey, the press was unkind to the MGC and sales were slow. Production stopped in 1969 after 9,000 models were built.
Today, an MGC is still a fun way to enjoy 1960s British motoring, though the driving dynamic is significantly different from an MGB. Also, the engine bay is quite cramped, which results in high running temperatures. The car has long legs and is reasonably well suited for American roads, though, which makes it a pleasing cruiser. Mechanical issues are similar to MGBs, which means there is plenty of support available, though some MGC parts are becoming harder to find.-- http://www.hagerty.com
Hello friends we are here today with another awesome car project. This little roadster was purchased in new mexico last month and we are ready to sell her to a prospective enthusiast.
This British classic has been been repainted, has no rust, no signs of any accident damage. She Has aged really well and the car has all of its original bells and whistles. The interior is not in that bad shape and the vehicle has a very rare Caribbean hard top. A removable roof, this after market gem really adds more class and dept perception to the inside of this gorgeous machine. The engine cranks and the car runs but will most definitely require a tune up. With only 41000 miles on her she not much is really needed. Only 9000 of these were ever made and most im sure are in the bottom of a scrap heap.

Gorgeous car that was restored some years by a specialist at great expense.
Was sold new in Australia in 1938, had a TC motor and gearbox fitted while there, came to NZ in the late 1950's.
Has TC wheels, the five 19 inch original TA wheels are in good condition and are with the car.

This lovely MG TA was purchased in Melbourne Australia in May 2002 from an MG specialist whilst I was travelling there on business. I am an avid collector of MG’s having had many pre and post war MG t types, MG TF and MGA 1600 and Twin Cam models.

MG TA, 1937, brought to Austria by a British army officer in the 1940s.
(Officially registered in Austria in 1948) Between 1945 and 1955 British
troops were stationed in Parts of Austria The car was left back in Austria
and became the first racing .....
1937 MG TA - The replacement for the PB Midget came in the form of the new TA in 1936. An evolution of the previous model it was some 3 inches wider in its track and the wheel base was increased by 7 inches giving an improved ride and more room in the cockpit.
The enginge was now a push-rod unit, .....
1938 MG TA. One owner for over 50 years. Very correct and original car. Never fully restored and much as it left Abingdon in 1938.
It was fettled and used during the 1950's and early 1960's, then stored for many years.
