The Maserati 3500 GT was one of the company’s first forays into massed produced automobiles. Following a successful racing history in the 50s Maserati needed to create a street car in order to keep the company afloat. The 3500GT established Maserati as a capable producer of luxury Grand Tourers, and 2,200 examples were produced during its run from 1957 to 1964.
Here we have a barn find 3500 that was stored for approximately 15 yrs. The paint could be saved and we believe it to be decent enough to be driven as is, with its defects. Whats exceptional is the condition of the Carrizzoria Touring Coach work. Remarkable for it age! Upon putting car on a lift it doesn't appear to have any significant corrosion or significant repairs performed! Panel fit is as per factory and the way these old artists hammered it out. Interior comes very close to the original and is usable as is. Drive line was taken apart for rebuilding that the prior owner never completed. While engine is not the exact that came with car its a correct type early engine. Note: Quite a few 3500s never were stamped by the factory. Car is very complete with the exception of a very few items.
The Maserati 3500 GT offered here was originally born in black color and built in Milan by the Carrozzeria Touring.
The first Italian owner decided already in the early 70s to repaint this vehicle.....
