A call from a lady from Windsor,Berkshire about selling her 1960 Morris Mini Minor that was in daily use and we were there like a shot. (It’s not every day that your offered 58 year old Mini in good condition, most have been sitting in a garage (“barn find” they call them these days) and rotting away for years!
We arrived to find this beautiful pale blue 1960 Mini saloon with original two tone brockade interior and the big single speedo gleaming at us, It was better than we had antisipated.
We purchased the car and drove back to Swanley in 32 degrees in thick Friday afternoon traffic around the M25, not for the faint hearted, 850s are a little slow, Very little air through the sliding windows,Crossply tyres, and more traffic than you can shake a stick at! But we made it and it was exhilerating.
Now for the car as I said it’s pale blue but I’m not sure of the name of the colour, it’s a 1960 with a magic wand gearlever, original interior although the carpets have been replaced (unsurprisingly). Under the bonnet looks pretty good again lots of original features, water bottle and clamp, wiring loom, dynamo split cowling radiator shroud plus metal fan blade and more. There are a couple of very small mistameanors to the body but this is a useable classic Mini not a show car (YET). Drives different to a more modern car due to the nature of the tyres, size of the steering wheel, antiquated braking system and magic wand gear stick.
which all adds up to a different driving experience altogether.
Great useable classic Mini being offered at a great price £15,995.00
