This original chrome bumper MGB Roadster is a very good example with an excellent specification.
It looks superb in red with its black leather interior piped in red and is fitted with a chrome boot rack, Moto-Lita woodrim steering wheel and Minilite style alloy wheels.
The manual gearbox has overdrive on third and fourth which is operated using a dash mounted overdrive switch.
The current MOT runs until August 2019 although it is now MOT exempt and the car will be licensed for twelve months from the date of sale for the new owner at no cost as the car qualifies for the Historic Taxation class.
The large history file contains the current V5, the current MOT certificate, numerous previous MOT certificates dating back to 1990, invoices for parts and work completed and a detailed history of change of owners and restoration work.
The history also tells us that it had a new Gold Seal engine fitted in 1989 which has now only covered 44703 miles.
The headline of the 2nd July 2014 edition of Classic Car Weekly reported that there was an acute shortage of good MGBs and their values will continue to rise as buyers realise what good value these cars are compared to other classic British sports cars. This is now proving to be correct.
Classic open top sports motoring and likely to be an excellent investment.
