This is a genuine MGB GT LE (See google for history of the LE and specifications)
This is a 'matching numbers' car and was built on Thursday 4th September 1980, 7 weeks before the factory closed. It was first registered on 13.02.1981 (production no 386 of 500) and is showing under 21,000 miles (verified by MOT history back to 2005).
The car comes as original factory LE Specification with the following non factory extras: Front and rear adjustable shock absorbers, Electronic ignition & sports coil, Thermostatically controlled electric fan, Panasonic Hi-Fi with flush mounted door speakers, Moto Lita steering wheel and a Britax fold back sunroof,
The car is in very good overall condition with some cosmetic signs of age. Paintwork is in very good order showing some blemishes and minor bubbling on some panels. The wheels have had a full diamond cut refurbishment. The engine runs well with a smooth gearbox and perfectly working overdrive in 3rd and 4th gear. Brakes have previously been refurbished and stop well.
The car comes with an extensive research / history file compiled by the previous owner. Extensive works carried out show bills for over £4K prior to my ownership including remedial MOT work in July 2018 - you can check the MOT history online. This is a very original car with sensible mechanical modifications for driver comfort and reliability.
This vehicle is my daily driver and the car is very reliable. It is an extremely pretty car that could become a show winner. Car will come with 12 months MOT for complete peace of mind.
I continue to work on the car in and in March 19 carried out a complete coolant system flush and re-fill with correct antifreeze mixture. New spark plugs and new door speakers just fitted. New clutch cylinder and Brake fluid change. New rocker cover gasket, oil and filter service and engine flush. In June 19 the car has undergone a £2,500 full rear end overhaul (photos and receipts) including Axle and Diff rebuild. Rear brakes refurbished. Rear suspension refurb with new poly bushes. Petrol tank refurbished and new fuel line. Exhaust refurbished. All metal to rear wheel arches rear valance battery tray stripped back and replaced where necessary. New jacking points. Boot space refurbished and all work repainted with anti-rust and stone chip paint. Rear bumper stripped and refurbished. Booked in for carburettor rebuild and tune up next month. I have spent over £3000 on this car in the last 12 months and it has been worth every penny. Just have too many classic cars at present and something needs to go. It is very reliable and you will not be disappointed when seen.
