After much deliberation I have decided to sell my pride and joy. I have owned my Ford Granada 2.0L for 20 years. This car is tax and MOT exempt. However I still get the car tested and it has a valid MOT until 30th April 2019. The car is a 2.0 OHC L, manual variant finished in Roman Bronze. It was registered in September 1977 making it one of the very last of the MK1s. Being an ĎLí spec makes it unusual as most people kept the higher spec models. The car has 107k miles. I am the sixth owner of the car, the previous owner purchased the car in 1987 and sold it to me in 1998. The car is mainly used for shows and club meets and the odd drive out in the summer months. The car comes with a stack of paperwork including receipts and old MOTs.
New brake master cylinder
New brake pipes
New hand brake cable
New Rear Shock absorbers
Radiator and heater radiator have been recorded
NOS genuine Ford rear silencer
Brake calipers replaced about 6 years ago
New carburetor purchased from Webcon purchased 25-5-2013
Rear Seat belts fitted
New font wheel bearings
Front Chassis has been welded (Common Granada weak spot)
JVC CD Player
The car was taken off the road 2001-2003 when it was restored following some light accident damage which resulted in damage to the front valance and driverís wing. I used the time to replace the rusty panels, front valance, front wings, front doors and O/S rear wing. I then had the car resprayed in its original Roman Bronze.
Car has recently been serviced with replacement oil and air filters. Coolant has been replaced with fresh anti-freeze
Windscreen rubber could benefit from being replaced (available from MotoMobil)
Rust patch on rear O/S door
Small rust bubble on O/S arch
Tyre's are serviceable but are date stamped 2004.
Sills will need replacing in the next few years.
Age related breaks (Fully functional but are of 70ís technology)
Original seats replaced with GXL seats. Note there is a spring gone in the driverís seat.
Paint work is good but there are tell-tale signs that it has been resprayed. There are a couple of runs on the valances.
Would benefit from a good Waxoyl
Overall a presentable, classic car which will only appreciate in value. I have enjoyed owning it and have many fond memories.
Set of 5 genuine factory alloy wheels for Mk2 Granada in excellent unmarked condition. These are the so called rare 'metric' wheels which were fitted to German built cars. All have been professionally stripped and etch primed, ready for paint or powder coating and have been dry stored for several years.
