BRISTOL 409 - 1966(D) For Sale

PRICE REDUCTION - Owing to an impending house move and loss of storage I have reduced the price to £22,000. BRISTOL 409 - 1966 (D) - First registered 13th December 1966, this particular car can be seen on the Bristol Owners Club Website as an illustration of the 409 model - albeit some years ago. I am the 6th owner, I’ve had it for a little over two years, the owner before me had it for just under 27 years. This is one of the the last of the models with no power steering, push button 3 speed automatic transmission and a 5218 cc V8. Also fitted with a stainless steel exhaust, Kenlowe fan with top hose sensor and manual override switch and an Edelbrock 600cfm 4 choke Carburettor. Now showing 100513 miles but this is not verified, however I have most of the MOT certificates back to 1990 when the mileage was recorded as 48065. The Bristol was MOT exempt from May 2018 but in any case is MOT tested to 13 February 2020. Some notable work has been done to the car in the past, such as: Reconditioned radiator 2001 Repairs to corroded rear wheel arches 1998 Engine rebuild 1996 Bodywork repairs and bare metal respray by Bristol Cars in 1988 More recently I have done an engine and transmission fluid and filter change, replaced the front and rear brake pads, including a front seal kit, renewing the exhaust mountings, the front grille has been refurbished and the wheels have been blasted and powdercoated. There is a fairly extensive history of repairs and servicing in the past, but there is no service history as such. Presently the car is in working and presentable condition, although it is not concours by any means. The car looks good from a few feet and please be aware that the photographs flatter the car somewhat, the paintwork has a few blemishes and blisters that are visible on closer inspection and the front seats are past their best with some tears to the front squabs . The rear bumper needs some minor straightening and both bumpers could do with re-chroming. I have used the car regularly in the decent weather which has included long (200 mile +) journeys with no problems. The car is located in Essex, near Colchester. Viewing is welcome. There is a vehicle ramp to aid inspection.
