As British as warm beer and fish and chips, Triumph's pretty TR4 A is a strong and muscular sports car whose values are increasing steadily. It is essential get the Triumph TR 4A into perspective from the start. It is a sports car pure and simple, not a GT machine and is intended to instill fun into your motoring rather than provide effortless long distance travel. The very nature of a Triumph TR4 A's performance renders it a superb car for cross country motoring but the niceties of quietness, spaciousness and clinical road holding have been passed by, leaving a rugged, fast typically British sports car, ideal for fun-and- games and rallying.
According to the Heritage certificate this particular TR4 A was built at Canley Coventry on the 15th of May 1967 and dispatched to Cookes Garages of Crewe on the 5th of June 1967. The Heritage certificate also confirms that the car is painted in the same signal red it was when it left the factory in 1967.The V5 shows that the car has had just 2 owners since 1998.
The TR4 was subject to a full ground up restoration in the late 90s and has covered just 16,000 miles since completion. The history file contains a comprehensive photographic record of the chassis up rebuild. We also understand that the engine was rebuilt at the same time. We have recently rebuilt the gearbox and overdrive. The car comes with Overdrive on 3rd and top gears, alternator,painted wire wheels, new tyres, Motorola period radio and a Motalita wooden steering wheel.
To sum up,one would be hard pressed to find an example as nice as this short of buying a brand new car.
