1968 MG C GT – £22,500
This MG C GT is a great taste of the 60’s and is a perfect example of why these cars are so desired in today’s market. Due to low sales, a short production time and for being a very controversial vehicle, the MG C has attracted attention for most of its lifespan.
During the life with its previous owner this vehicle was looked after meticulously and was loved dearly. The following work was undertaken on this vehicle during this time:
Overhauled cylinder head with new valves seats for use with unleaded petrol. The Exhaust manifold was replaced with new and a full stainless exhaust system was fitted. Which in turn provides great durability and enhances the C’s growling 2.9 litre straight six. The vehicle was also treated to overhauled SU’s with new jets and needles gaskets.
Coming towards the rear of the car, the rear suspension was refurbished with new springs and SPAX adjustable telescopic dampers. Along with new rear brake shoes and a refurbished brake cylinder.
The petrol tank was removed, stripped and renovated with new corrosion resistant paint, new gaskets and a brand-new fuel pump to ensure this MG C is getting clean fuel at its full potential.
Towards the front we find new inner bushes fitted to both sides of the front suspension and a new D/S Tie Rod. The front suspension was also cleaned and refurbished but found to be in excellent working order. The correct Girling MK11B Servo has also been fitted along with a refurbished and re-bored stainless steel sleeved 123 distributor. Along with this the brake clutch pedal box was refurbished, along with a brand-new pin.
Aesthetically, this vehicle is true to its age with old style cellulose paint, which however could do with renovating to bring it up to its full glory and potential. The MG C has been fitted with New 5.5J Tubeless wire wheels which in turn allow modern tyres to be fitted, massively increasing comfort and drive-ability. Due to this 4 brand new modern tyres have been fitted to the vehicle. The original seats have been refurbished and is exceptionally original inside.
